I have visited this place almost twice a week for 2 years now. I am always nice and friendly to the couple who runs it. I often buy additional items other than coffee from them like chocolates, sandwiches, bakery. Last weekend I hopped there for a coffee and was my usual self, I asked for a coffee and toast. When they can the couple make a veggie sandwich for me as they do not keep it a veggie one pre packed due to lack of demand. The gentlemen initially dropped the toast so he apologised and asked if he could make it again, but he does not have any hummus left. I said, "that is ok take your time" and waited. He then turned around to and one other customer saying that, "You are my last customer of the day and I am shutting". It was 09:30 AM, I am always chatty with this couple and ask them how they are doing, how is their day etc, so I nicely without being intrusive asked, "oh how come in the morning today?" - the gentlemen was agitated and asked me not to ask him any questions. It was a sunny day so I said ok I hope you enjoy rest of the sun this weekend, again being polite. He practically asked me to shut up. I said I was being nice - he said very aggressively, "I am just stressed, Go away!" - I asked him not to be rude and left.

I completely understand people can have a bad day and am empathetic towards it. I do not believe one should take out their frustration on their customers like this. I let the incident go, and thought I will nicely share feedback the next time I visit the cafe.

This morning, I went asked for coffee. Before I even entered he said, "I only have small cups today" - I was like ok how are you feeling today? As a matter of concern. He said he was doing fine, he was stressed over the weekend. Which is when I very politely said, I am glad you are ok but you were a bit rude the other day. I am sorry I was expecting an apology here!

He got aggressive again and said, "Dont! I dont serve you anymore, I mean it! Go! You are not nice"

This is NOT how one treats a frequent customer. I have even referred this cafe to friends of mine.

I am sure their usual arrogant selves are never going to do anything about this review, and will probably be malicious and conjure up some new story, but this is NOT how you treat customers who are being nice to you and asking you about...

Yes the setting is nice when the weather is good and I used to go there quite often BUT... I have been very desapointed last time I went. I didn't want to make a big deal of it, so didn't sent back the very bad cappuccino I had (used to have it all the time there before and it was ok).

To make the story short and instead of apology and move on, the girl explained to me that they do it the same way (with double shots) whatever size cup they take randomly when they are busy (so obviously this is not going to Taste the same because the cup was so small that you cannot put any milk in it -i think there was something wrong with the coffee in the first place) but then she told me that they weren't busy today?! (Well I guess I was lucky the other time to be served on a proper size mug).

Also the girl told me that wherever I go to get a cappuccino elsewhere, it is disgusting and they put too much milk... I was stunned to hear that 😳. She should have apologised, taking care of the costumers, and not taking people like if they...

I walked into the cafe today in a great mood as usual. Unfortunately the lady working did not seem in such a great mood.

I was accused of stealing and my bag was searched. I left almost in tears and felt embarrassed. The sign on the board says looking for happy and positive staff

I’m a local carer in the community and working primarily with people with disabilities. It took a toll on my job today to have to turn up to help people when I felt close to tears all morning. I was also told not to return to the cafe despite it being clear I did not steal anything. Honestly what a let down. All I had done is question why I had been accused of stealing and was not given an answer.

The coffee was...

Lovely little cafe with plenty of cakes and pastries. A few savoury options too. Coffee was nice.. we had an iced latte and an espresso. Single espresso was way too watery for my taste but the latte was quite nice. There is a nice and really quiet back garden, perfect to unwind and chill surrounded by nature.. prices are really modest and the lady at the counter was lovely too..

Awesome cafe tucked away on a side street. The cafe backs on to a beautiful garden with outdoor seating. Good coffee but great sandwiches. Very friendly staff! One of London’s hidden gems Area for improvement: I would note that the coffee is a bit inconsistent. When ordering, the coffee is sometimes rushed and a flat white never comes out the same.

Pretty good coffee, nice little shop with seating in the park outside. Had a decent choice of pastries, including both regular and small pain au chocolats. We had a couple of small ones, that had just come out of the oven, so as fresh as you could get! Friendly service as well
