Extremely disappointed after years of loyalty!
As a long-term and very frequent customer of this 22nd (located right under my apartment), I feel compelled to share my deep disappointment.
I’ve been coming here almost daily especially after breaking my pinky toe because it’s conveniently located, doesn’t require walking long distances, and offers comfortable seating with a good atmosphere for working. I’ve spent countless hours and a lot of money here, often staying up to nine hours a day while recovering and working.
Despite the great coffee, the customer service has been shockingly poor, particularly from one staff member (an Asian man) whose behavior has left me feeling repeatedly humiliated and unwelcome.
Three years ago, I ordered food before using the restroom with my daughter respecting the “toilet for paying customers only” policy. Shortly after, he came and loudly accused me in front of everyone of leaving sanitary waste behind, something I absolutely did not do. It was mortifying, especially as he shouted across the café while I stood near the exit. I even went back with him to the toilet, where he simply assumed the mess was mine.
I chose to let that go, but a recent encounter finally made me decide not to return. While sitting and working, I had my foot slightly elevated to reduce swelling. He approached me and said I wasn’t allowed to put my foot up. I explained it was due to an injury, and although he later understood, the way it was initially handled was unnecessarily harsh.
After all the time, money, and loyalty I’ve given to this place, I’ve decided this will be my last visit. What should have been a welcoming neighborhood café became a source of stress and embarrassment. I hope the management seriously reconsiders how loyal...
Read moreWas looking forward to this shop opening. It has a nice vibe and clear places to work. On the first visit I waited 5 minutes for anyone to give me eye contact despite there being 2 people behind the till. They were focused on jobs rather than service. Their bathroom had no baby changing facility.
A smile and eye contact goes a long way, especially when the coffee shop is in a residential area where 222 would do well to have repeat customers.
I decided to give them a second chance,perhaps the workers were tired. On my second visit, I experienced the same thing - waiting 3 minutes before anyone acknowledged I was standing waiting to be served - this time there were 3 people standing behind the till area doing other jobs and talking to each other.
I hope customer service improves as we would like an alternative...
Read moreThis coffee shop is an exciting new addition to the area. The coffee has a lovely rounded flavour to it. The food offering is extensive and covers all tastes. Great to have a place that serves alcohol as well. I have found it a very relaxing place to spend time in, morning, noon and night. It’s good to see a new place providing employment to young people in the locality. I am sure the staff will become more efficient and dynamic as they settle in and become more experienced. It’s not easy the first couple of weeks on opening a new business.
