Today was my first day attending the shop and i really enjoyed my experience. I brought the fish burger and chips. But i have to apologies, i am privilege to be able live in the apartments and i am part of the local social media groups including whats app. When the shop open one of the locals said he had a bad experience, and we decided as a group to write bad reviews even though none of us went to the shop. I dont want to name and shame but at least 8 of the 1 star negative reviews are not real and made up. I am so ashamed to have egged this on. I met one of the owners and she was so lovely and friendly, her name was forhana. Her and her husband have young kids and want to give them a bright future. this wasn't because of the food or just bullying, The shop was targeted because some of the locals didnt like the owners being Muslim. (Im sure you can gather what background some of the bullies are now) Im an atheist (born Chrisitian) but i dont believe people should be pushed out just because of their religion, skin colour or any characteristics. I am writing this in tears, i am truely sorry for what we have done. Unfortunately the mob are bitter and determined to push people who dont have the same skin colour or opposite religion to theirs out. they've done it before successfully. I would like to encourage the locals to support this shop, they have been unfairly treated and i want us all to stand in solidarity against hatered and the bullies. We should support local businesses and encourage people to invest and enjoy the area. Royal whaft is...
Read moreWas thrilled to learn that RW was getting a chippy, and was there in day one... Had to wait 20 minutes, it was busy chaotic and the food very disappointing. But that was day one. You'd expect some issues. Went back this week, two people in front of me, 6 people behind the scenes, chap on the front counter was chatting and took forever to acknowledge me. Then had to wait 15 minutes. I get that everything is cooked to order, but 15 minutes? The chips were stale and not fresh nor crispy. The fish was small, and sadly very overcooked. Batter should be light and crispy, not heavy and almost solid. The fish wasn't flaky moist and flavoursome, but overcooked, dry and lacking flavour. Mushy peas were more like soup! I don't know if it's an issue with your suppliers, or your staff don't know what good fish and chips should be like. Sorry for the negativity, but that's my...
Read moreWe saw they had just opened two or three weeks ago so decided to try it and I can say we really enjoyed the food. We had Cod / Haddock and the seared cod (no batter) and chips. All food was freshly cooked to order which obviously leads to a little longer wait time than you may be used to but meant everything tasted fresh . The batter was light and crisp and the seared code was perfectly cooked and really tasty, chips were plentiful and the proper chunky style you would expect for a chip shop. Seemed like they were still getting into their stride with collecting orders and some of the timings when food items were finished for an order also currently please note they were only able to take cash payment. We...
