From the moment I stepped inside Vera’s, I felt like I had wandered into a sunlit dream. The gentle chatter, the clink of cutlery, and the scent of fresh bread made me realize this would be no ordinary brunch. Vera’s is not just a café; it feels like a love letter to mornings, to flavors, and to the joy of simple things done with care. The space is warm and soulful, with big windows that let the light pour in, plants tucked into corners, and soft wooden tones that make you feel at home. Before we arrived, my husband and I called to let them know we were on our way, and each time they kindly picked up, letting us know the kitchen closes at 14:00 on Sunday and that they would wait for us. The staff, Nicole, Anjali, Grace, Marwa, and Jeni, greeted us with such genuine warmth that it felt more like visiting friends than a restaurant. Then came the food. Everything we tried was simply exquisite. The burrata was creamy and fresh, the scrambled eggs were perfectly fluffy, the focaccia was soft yet flavorful, and the Eggs Royale was nothing short of perfection: two delicately poached eggs resting on toasted muffins, layered with smoky salmon, all wrapped in a silky hollandaise that was rich but never heavy. Every bite was balanced and comforting, yet refined. I closed my eyes more than once just to savor it. What makes Vera’s truly phenomenal is the atmosphere. Time seems to slow here. The playlists are gentle, the light dances across the room, and the staff, Nicole, Anjali, Grace, Marwa, and Jeni, treat you like family. It is not just brunch, it is an experience that nourishes both body and spirit. Verdict: 10/10. Vera’s has set the bar so high for brunch that I will be dreaming about it until I return.

Me and my cousin were just passing by and the vibrant colour from the shop caught my eye. We only needed a quick bite so we ordered a pesto and mozzarella sandwich. Everything about this place is amazing, and they sell quirky bits too for the Foodies. We were speaking Spanish and one of the staff came to bring our food and spoked to us in Spanish too, that was a lovely surprise. I live in the East Midlands but if I'm back in the area I would definitely visit again.

Really lovely place! Beautiful independent shop run by lovely owners. Definitely worth a visit! Best pain au chocolat ever (inc ones I’ve scoffed in France), wonderful coffee, lovely fresh produce and many lovely treats. Can’t wait for their cooked food offering prepared on the premises by top chef, Tim! Just what’s needed on this side of SJW. And now with online ordering too.

Went to this really lovely place this morning for breakfast and had the best scrambled eggs on sourdough toast with coffee, chocolate croissant and cruffin (a cinnamon croissant in the shape of a large muffin). The whole experience was faultless and I commend the family owners for opening a shop, named after their grandmother, where you feel comfortable and welcomed….just like I used to feel when I stepped through my grandma’s front door. I always left her house full and with a takeaway bag, the same as I...

Came the other day with my family as it had been recommended to us. We only thought we’d have coffees and cakes (the brownies are just delicious), until we realised they have the loveliest seating area downstairs and we ended up having lunch and couldn’t stop ourselves sampling more and more dishes (the ragu and the cured salmon were a firm favourite). We also bought some charcuterie and wine to take home with us too. The best concept, the friendliest hosts and the best food, we will definitely be...
