A nice escape within the busiest establishment in Beckenham. However, the menu offers less than the sandwich aisle for food and as much as the free myWaitrose coffee machines for drinks. It was a cold day and I had my hopes for at least some soup or fresh bread, but no, it's just frigid toasties and sweet pastries. You're not even allowed to consume food bought within the Waitrose that engulfs it, so I couldn't even get away with a subtle munch on a rotisserie chicken from the deli. Lovely staff. The interior is well done, with an ambience to match, but it won't mask your disappointment unless they take a few more risks with the menu. *yawns*
