I’ve eaten here twice. Once at the shop and another to takeaway.

The atmosphere at the shop is great. Staff is friendly, place is clean and spacious, and you get to see the noodle master pulling noodles in front of you.

Unfortunately I don’t quite rate this food here . I had the qishan pork noodles the first time and it was average to slightly under average. The soup, I recall, was gritty on the outside from all the mashed up spices which did not make for too pleasant a meal. I suspect it could have been because I got soup that was at the bottom of the cooking vessel.

The second time around, I had the spicy beef noodles to takeaway. It’s quite horrid. The photo I’ve attached doesn’t quite do it justice but there was an inch of oil to 1.5 inches of “broth”. I love oily foods, good food taste good because of oil. But this is too much. I had to strain the noodles out and pour the soup into an oil separator. The cup on the right is just full of oil. Clearly what had happened was that the chef had accidentally ladled a little too much oil whilst preparing the food. Better quality control is necessary. Beef was very typical for this kind of noodles - you get collagen and slightly tough slightly tender cuts of salty marinated beef. A true average at 5/10. There were 4 small hunks. Pulled noodles were pulled noodles, nothing to write home about, nothing offensive either.

I will be returning to try their titular biangbiang noodles - but in the mean time, I suggest anyone looking to satiate their soup noodle cravings to avoid this place.

To anyone looking for good noodles (albeit not xi’an style) around this area - I highly recommend YeYe around a 5-10 minutes walk away that just opened. It’s 30% pricier and serves up a much smaller portion, but it’s...

Always down for a food trip and my housemate took us here.

We came minutes before they opened. We sat down, ordered and in a couple of minutes our orders arrived. The three of us had #18 hand pulled biang biang noodles with beef in special sauce which was highly recommended.

Now it was windy and hot in London, this noodle dish didnt have soup but it had enough heat that I felt warm. It was like a comforting hug after our walk. The noodles were chewy and wide. The beef.... ugh, so tender and flavorful. The richness of the sauce paired with the tangy vinegar made a perfect medley of flavor explosion in my mouth.

On the side we had #5 smacked cucumber with garlic sauce. Refreshing, zingy and creamy. My tastebuds tells me it was tahini and black vinegar with garlic and chilis. Such a good palate cleanser.

We also had #15a pork and veg wonton in chicken broth -- the broth tasted very clean and not gamey. It had seaweeds and teeny tiny shrimps for umami. The wontos were juicy and good portion size too. #15b was pork and veg wonton in special sauce (which i think was dark soy and chili oil -- classic)

You can ask for a bib, slurping is allowed. The vibe gives a very casual asian canteen -- grab a quick meal and get on with your day. Fast and great service, attentive staff and accepts...

After seeing a few adverts on Instagram I became really intrigued in giving this place a try. Even though the trip there was about 1 hour (from Richmond area), I am quite happy to have visited this restaurant. The atmosphere was nice and not overwhelming (compared with Chinatown venues) and as I arrived on Sunday and not long after opening it was quite peaceful. The menu had recommended dishes and was quite compact with just enough options to provide great variety without getting lost. Contrary to the recommendation I decided to try cumin lamb noodles as this meat can sometimes have a very pronounced aroma. To go along with the lamb I ordered some mushroom skewers which were absolutely amazing (and I'm soo sad I only had 2😭) as well as a pot of Jasmine tea.🤌🤌 The spicyness level was as stated in the menu and just enough to fully unblock my sinuses without killing me 😂. This might be a bit irrelevant, but the tableware was not your ordinary minimalist white, but a nice warm yellow which matched the interior well.🫖 The service of the team members was natural and genuine, none of that 'over caring' element with fake smiles from ear to ear. The pricing was not bad considering the location. Will definitely be returning to try out more dishes when I'm not far...
