Gimmicky pizzas in a wannabe retro setting. Over priced, Over seasoned, under served pizzas that can taste good if they manage to not overcook it or leave parts of it raw.
I ordered the 18" Harlamb Shake, which is supposed to have Harissa lamb with goats cheese among the other fancifully named list of ingredients. What I got was an overcooked (burnt till it tastes bitter in parts) pizza with a miserly sprinkle of minced meat (i'm assuming lamb as you can't taste it due to too much seasoning) and hardly 1 little blob of goats cheese per slice of pizza.
Taste score: 2/5 - For my 14y old it tasted awesome, until the next morning when he woke up with a stomach cramp! For me it was just over seasoned and the ingredients underserved except for the ample tomato sauce base.
Authenticity score: 1/5 - Lovely names for the Pizzas (very creative) and a very pretentious "hippie" sounding brand name.
Suggestions for the owners: Hire a Pizza chef who creates the pizzas and has them validated / tasted by a diverse focus group before putting it on you menu. Actually have the right amount of ingredients available e.g. if you're going to put lamb meat on the pizza, have an established amount that goes on every pizza depending on its size. Don't rely on estimates - under pressure you might over do it or under do it. Cut down the salt: let people discover the taste of the ingredients you use and trust that to get the flavours accross. Have a timer system for every pizza you throw in the oven, otherwise you end up with the results of a gamble....(read feedbacks of the burnt or...

Many of the currently ‘fashionable’ style pizza offerings in the city struggle with either being an under cooked sloppy mess or simply lack a sauce with any level of care in its craft, fortunately neither of these are an issue with Yard Sale. Boasting a solid mix of classic me and specials with toppings on rotation and a few hidden menu items (anchovies I see you) there’s plenty of flexibility to suit any taste.
Personally, I judge any pizza place on their ability to handle a classic Margarita and I had absolutely no faults here. Crisp base, premium cheese and a rich rounded sauce full of depth, absolutely 10/10
Other perks that establish Yard Sale in the top tier are the decent wine selection (a must if you are dining in), great mix of dips including a vegan garlic chive (vegan cheese is also available while we are on that topic), and desserts for those looking to end their meal in absolute indulgence.
Whether you’re on a date and looking for a fun and casual spot to dine in or just sprawled out on the sofa binging DS9 this is THE go to...
Read moreLove at first bite at Yard Sale Pizza! The staff here are all chilled and friendly and happy to help you with recommendations, allergies, requests etc. The flavours andnl toppings are amazing and although a carnivore through and through, their vegan special 'Herb Your Enthusiasm' was phenomenal. If they can make a pizza tasty without cheese or meat, you know it's a serious joint. Pizza sizes are great to have on your own (12inch) or to share (18inch). The base is so fresh tasting and you'll want to get one of their signature dips (garlic and herb is to doe for). Nothing will be left behind, trust me. A good selection of sides as well. Beware! There is VERY limites seating so be prepared to wait if you want to stay, or go at a less popular time. Staff told us they have a deal with a somewhat nearby pub where you can bring in their pizzas but the pub is a good...
