WARNING DO NOT SPEND MONEY AT YE OLDE LONDON! I happened upon this hell whole last night on New Year’s Eve. My group was looking for a few drinks at a bar. Upstairs seemed lively and chaotic so we headed downstairs to check out the space and the atmosphere. We were unaware that we were descending into the pits of hell. As we walked by the bar, an alarming woman ran from around the bar and positioned herself in front of me separating me from my group and preventing me from walking onward. “Do you have a reservation?!” This was spoken in a Slavik accent not as a question, but as an irritated accusation. If she simply wanted to convey that the venue was at capacity, she could have asked if we were looking for space or to just order at the bar. I’ve dealt with this type of racism before and chose to respond by ignoring her and walking past her. She followed me and my group around (again, not the first time I experienced this type of unprovoked treatment) until one of my companions turned to confront her. She knew she was wrong so she started accusing us of cussing at her. We asked to speak to a manager and she said she was (I hope not because this business is doomed with a leader like this). We decided we didn’t even want to spend our money in a place that would treat patrons this awful. As we were leaving, she followed us out as she motioned that she was calling the police on her cell (not unfamiliar to the Karen experience). On our way out the door, she instructed the two security guards at the door to not allow us back inside. They kind of rolled their eyes to assuage her demands. I looked at other reviews on Google and Yelp and all bad reviews had the same cut and paste response from the business, so I do not have any hope that concerns are seriously considered. I often book events for work in London and I will be sure to avoid Ye Olde London; also advising my colleagues at work and in my industry to do the same. I rarely write reviews for bad service but this event was so appalling that I feel compelled to...

This used to be a regular haunt for me and my friend after work (we hadn't been for a while) - not anymore. I'm not sure if the place has changed hands/management but we were made to feel unwelcome by the attitude of the two bartenders in the basement bar. I asked one of the men behind the bar for the menu so that we could order something to eat. He told me the kitchen was closed - which surprised me because we'd eaten there before much later than this - 6:30 pm - so I bought crisps and nuts while my friend went to sit down. The two men behind the bar were quite hostile towards me even though I was being polite - it made me feel very uncomfortable. After drinking our wine we decided to leave to find somewhere nice to eat - as we were leaving the basement "garden" (by the way, it's just a concreted/bricked up area) we noticed a lot of customers had plates of food in front of them!! Obviously the kitchen wasn't closed - it was obvious the bartenders didn't want us to order anything - maybe they were trying to make us leave! By the way, my friend and I are both black - I don't want to use the race card, but the impression we got was that we weren't welcome there as the bartenders were hostile from the moment we got there. We certainly wont be going back to that dive. If I could give it NO STARS, I would but I couldn't post without having to give it ONE (which it certainly doesn't deserve). If you want to be disrespected and treated like dirt, this is the place for you BUT if you want a decent drink and nice food and friendly staff, go to the All Bar...

To be real - not a fan of this establishment. Didn’t actually encounter anyone other than the downstairs bartender and one of the food runners, so no complaints about the service, but hardly any interaction either.

As a result, there isn’t much of an atmosphere here if you are coming for dinner on a Sunday evening like I did. Again, no one was rude, but the place doesn’t have any kind of a vibe at all, and it had a good amount of business.

Now, onto the food. I arrived at 6pm. I enquired about the Sunday Roast that was advertised on the menu. Not available. No cheese toasties available. A lot of items not available. I guess end of the week or just not stocked well for dinner guests?

For a family of four, spent about £72 for a pint of draught beer (don’t recommend the Greene King IPA - tasted sorta watered down), one delicious bottle of Pineapple Raspberry Cider, two lemonades, one plate of Nachos, one BLT, and one Steak and Ale Pie. So pricing is average to high versus other pubs in the area but without the quality that I’ve...

Exceptional Experience for Our Group Tour! We recently brought a large group from My London Corner to Ye Olde London, and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience! From the moment we arrived, the team was welcoming, incredibly kind, and truly went above and beyond to accommodate all of our needs. Despite the language barrier with some of our guests who didn’t speak English, the staff showed such patience and understanding, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and included. Every special request was handled with professionalism and a smile, making it clear that they genuinely cared about making our visit memorable. The food and drinks were top-notch, capturing the classic London pub experience perfectly. We’re thrilled to have found Ye Olde London and will definitely be returning for our future group trips. A huge thank you to the staff for their outstanding hospitality – you made our day so enjoyable! Highly recommended for any large group looking for a warm, accommodating pub in London.

This is an interesting pub in a great location just 100 yards from St Pauls. You enter the pub at ground floor level, here you will find a rather small area. The choice of drinks is somewhat limited given the size of the bar. However if you go down to the basement you will find a large area with ample seating and a pool table. Here you will find 6 cask beers but I opted for a Neck Oil IPA at £7.60. The real secret of this pub is the small beer garden next to the basement bar, a quiet tranquil haven. This pub offers a "double up" offer on spirits eg 25ml Chivas Regal at £6.30, 50ml at £8.80. They do offer typical pub food eg fish and chips, steak and ale pie etc. If you visit this pub I recommend that you go to the basement and beer garden.
