Shapla — Restaurant in Ludlow

Booked a table for 14 not very organised some people got the wrong food it was a shamble. The waiter didn't know what he was bringing out and who had ordered what. When it came to paying it was a night mare . It was only after my son paid for ours I said that was a bit expensive. When back at work a couple of days later several people comment the same , so I phoned shaple to ask about it the gentleman that served us answered the phone I explained the situation and he basically called me a drunk and a liar ( considering I was drinking water due to medication) I was roughly overcharged £12 he was very rude when I asked tospeak to a manager or owner he put the phone down on me tried to phone back but couldn't...

Our first visit to Ludlow and we found the Shapla in Broad Street. Don't do reviews as a rule , but really had to say this was an excellent meal tonight, and was the best Indian food we've had, anywhere, for a very long time. And very reasonable prices too. They were more than happy to adjust a menu item for me (less chilli, but more garlic, in the Jalfrezzi) and it was perfect. I highly recommend the seafood sizzler starter too. The staff are very polite and obliging. Probably the worst curry I have ever had. Mushroom 'Madras'. Generic sauce with a bit of extra chilli and garlic. Rubbery mushrooms straight from a tin. Raw stringy green chillies. I could have done better at home. And why do they call themselves an 'Indian' eatery when they are of Bangladeshi origin? They fought for independence from India in the late 'forties and then scrapped with their Muslim cousins in West Pakistan. The people who run and staff this place are from the West Midlands and are bussed in on a daily basis like rough sleepers and Big Issue sellers. Avoid. They all know every tax dodge and state...
