App did not work.
Unfortunately this restaurant does not have waiters or waitresses who come and take your order like in the good old days lol. Instead you have to use your smartphone (if you have one) and use a QR code (if you know how to do these things) to visit the website and view a menu before ordering via the app.
My partner could not access the app at all. Instead she was directed to some kind of network access page which wanted her to input her name address etc. I have no idea what all this was about.
I managed to use the app although it was slow. We selected our food and then went to the drinks section of the menu and then the app simply froze. I got a white screen of death and i could not go back or refresh the site.
That was 15 mins wasted so i'm sad to say we got up and left. I didnt fancy queing at the bar after spending 15 mins mucking about online. Nor should i really have to in a restaurant. I would have prefered if someone just took my order the normal way.
The place looked nice and had a good atmos. But we were a bit annoyed after the app fiasco so didnt fancy...

When its quieter you have a great choice of places to sit. The menu is also broad, and website has a great allergy filter and info. Staff were great with allergies, and friendly as well though on Sunday there was a bit of a queue to order. I had the halloumi burger which to me didn't have much flavour beyond the chilli jam in it and wasn't totally filling, but I tasted some of a flatbread and we agreed that was fantastic. Even without being too keen on the burger I wanted to go back the next day and try something else. Monday I had very little wait to order, plus the staff remembered me and my allergy. That time I got the bang bang cauliflower and tried the squash orzo, both were very delicious and filling. They took slightly longer to arrive but not an unreasonable time. For dessert we shared the chocolate sundae that came free with the Monday offer, again tasted great. So I'd...
Read moreDreadful experience. My wine was served in a grubby glass, fair enough - mistakes happen. I took it back to the bar to swap and was met with sheer hostility, like it was my fault? 🤔
Now for the best part… instead of pouring a fresh glass or simply pouring it into a different glass, the barmaid poured the wine (which I already took a sip from) BACK INTO the measuring thimble and processed to wipe my original glass with a blue j-cloth and then pour it back in!!! I couldn’t believe what I witnessed 😆😆 a basic health and safety failure let alone anything else!
Food was diabolical as well, stingy small portions and lacking in flavour. You’re better off going down the road to spoons. If there’s a positive in this review it’s that the general atmosphere of the restaurant is quite nice, liked the candles on the tables etc. but honestly, everything else sucked.
If you’re a fan of decent food and decent service, avoid Alturo Lounge...
