Booked afternoon tea for 3 people on 23rd December for my mother's 81st birthday. The service was second to none, the waiter seemed to be around when needed without hovering nearby and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. The actual building is quaint and just the place for afternoon tea. The little room we where seated in was warm without being overly hot and the whole place is spotlessly clean. Being an old building there are stairs but not steep and quite deep so using walking sticks was quite easy if you take it easy. We ordered 5 afternoon teas for pick up for my birthday, there was 4 types of sandwiches, 7 slices of cake, two scones with cream and jam, and tea, coffee, and fruit tea for 10 pounds per person!!!! The cakes and scones were homemade and delicious, the sandwich fillings were cheese, tuna, egg mayo, and ham. I first came here about 35 years ago, and it has barely changed in that time, and therein lies the problem. In my experience the food is ok, but there's a lot of competition in Malvern, and many of the competitors are much more modern, both in interior and in menu.
