We booked the Lantern the setting is beautiful even at night. However the food was very disappointing. The sticky spicy chicken wings, pale, no taste and just a gloopy sauce. The rest of our starters we sent back as cold. The fishcakes served rubbery, the vegetable springs rolls tasted of nothing however the calamari was nice when reserved and hot. Main meals - I had the chicken pad thai. It was not a dry dish but served in the same gloopy sauce as the chicken wings which was tasteless. Chunks of burnt egg was an awful dish and could not eat. Our friends advised that the coconut rice was nice. The kitchen is tiny, with only 12 people in the restaurant on saturday we did query how it would cope in the summer when outside and inside are occupied. Our server had excellent customer service skills. The restaurant was lovely and clean. Our party of four all said we would not go back which is sad, as it was the food (most important) that let the...
Read moreIf I could leave 0 stars I would. I ordered on uber so can't comment on the service and atmosphere although it did arrive quick. It is by far the worst Thai food I have ever had. The chicken looked more like pork was rubbery and fatty and an off colour. I had the pad Thai and red Thai curry. The pad Thai was purple in colour and tasted of nothing, it looked like someone had emptied the vegetable drawer in the fridge in there and be done with it. Huge portion but unfortunately it all went in the bin. The red curry was not much better the chicken was the same substance as the pad Thai and had every vegetable known to man in there but somehow still managed to be tasteless. The coconut rice was cooked well but completely underseasoned. The fried king prawns were the best dish if only they had been de 'veined' 🤢 if you're looking for authentic Thai food please...

We had tapas starters, crispy broccoli, thai fishcakes, sticky wings and red onion bhaji, main courses were Chicken Massaman Curry & Prawn Thai Green Curry. Food was 10/10, very authentic, been to Thailand many times, this food ticked all the boxes, great service, we were the first in so felt a bit isolated but it soon filled up and the atmosphere improved, there were some Indian dishes on the menu but we stuck with Thai, give The Lantern a visit, top quality food, you...
