24/10/22: back again, ahead of our Jersey Boys show at Manchester Opera House. That same old familiar incense filled establishment, making you feel at home and relaxed as soon as you step foot over the threshold of the corner doors. Photo update of the ale list.
28/09/22: Cask is amazing and as soon as you walk in, you feel at home. Presented with a large number of pumps featuring from all over the world. Located in the heart of Castlefield, opposite the Science & Industry Museum on Liverpool Road, just off Deansgate. Often overlooked and quite understated.
Tiny double opening corner doors leads you to a Continental type establishment. Opened in 2003, the beer list has remained, without doubt, one of the most comprehensive in town. Many local brews, German wheat beers, strong Belgian imports, special American imports and bottles from around the globe, the choice is incredible, plus there's a good range of spirits ensuring there is sure to be something that takes your fancy.
An outdoor patio garden features at the back, comfy seating inside, with the option of bringing in your own food. The local chippy next door does a roaring trade because of...

Take-away food pleasures aside, the beers on offer and atmosphere also make it great. Another place shunning the usual Stellas and Kronenburgs is always a good thing - the range of IPAs, European beers, fruit and wheat beers, ciders is really interesting and varied. I loved the Lindemans cherry beer which was on draft and you can't beat a Schneider Weisse and matching glass. It's a buzzy place without being overcrowded and the relaxed atmosphere and selection of board games means you'll never be bored. Simple, effective and spot on. Just like...

Not been in a bar which serves so many beers and ales for a while! There must've been 15 on tap as well as numerous bottles... They also have cherry bee on draft!! Superb.
The prices are average for city if not a little higher but the quality of the pint here was one of the best I've had in Manchester. I've heard you can bring your chippy tea in from the chippy next door which is great for a late evening snack. Will definitely be back to sample more...
