Domus Italia Chorlton — Restaurant in Manchester

A wonderful family run restaurant. I’m by no means a connoisseur however I am very particular. And tonight I had the best Italian meal I’ve ever had. The restaurant is authentically Italian with excellent staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and catered for. Every meal we had as a party if 7 (family members with children) was perfection. I was full yet wanted to clean my plate. And tried most of the meals served. I’m can’t speak highly enough of the attention to detail and yet the authenticity of the Italian family experience. I’m not local to the area and had not read one review and was so pleasantly surprised that I will go out of my way in future to go again and try more of their delicious offerings. I cannot emphasise how exceptional our meals were. I am the first to complain when somethings not quite right and from the service to the meals there’s not a thing I would change about the whole experience. If you’re ever in Charlton it’s a must. I’m amazed we were able to get a table, I can only assume that it’s an undiscovered gem and hoping next time I’m in the area we’re able...

Food very good but they don’t cater for non-smokers and people with smoke allergies. My husband and I went for a meal this afternoon, we chose to seat in the adjacent sitting area outside the main building as we noticed there were no ashtrays on the tables and in the umbrellones area there were people smoking. We were the only ones eating there, till a group of 4 pig ignorant men sat right next to us and started smoking while we were eating. We asked the server about smoking in eating areas. She said it was okay, the only non-smoking area was indoors. She was pretty useless, we had to speak to the men. In a lovely summer day who wants to be indoors? The restaurant does not cater for non-smokers. W rapid and left, and will never return. Now I am taking my antihistamine tablets and my weekend has been ruined....

Walked in with wife and two children at 4.30. Literally had one couple there with the rest of the tables being empty. Moment we entered was asked by owner/manager regarding reservation which we didn't have, baring in mind place was empty. Manager/owner left us hanging while he checked bookings. And then asked us abruptly how long we planned on staying. I responded probably 30-40mins and showing no hospitality at all he responded with ok if you don't stay over 30mins then you can sit. Very disappointed being a paying customer being treated this rude. Made it very obvious that we were not welcome. Would not recommend...
