Thank you for your message. Normally, I don't dwell on such matters, but it's quite disappointing that despite having the best location in the station better than Pret, Costa, or Starbucks, you are not making the most of it. Please donât take this the wrong way, I mean this as constructive feedback.
I bought a coffee and a sandwich at around 8:00 in the morning, which is considered quite early. At that time, one would expect the sandwich to be fresh, but unfortunately, the bread was very stale and the filling was inadequate. The coffee also left me disappointed. I paid over ÂŁ10 for these two items. At that price, one could have a proper breakfast, yet I ended up with something worse than a basic meal deal sandwich from an ordinary supermarket dry, stale, and poorly presented.
That being said, I must mention that your staff were very friendly, approachable, and helpful, which I appreciated. I hope you take steps to improve, as after all, itâs your...
Read moreI ordered a bhaji and turmeric hummus baguette which is very clearly labelled as plant-based and after getting back to my hotel to eat lunch realised I'd been given a chicken baguette instead. This is a pretty terrible mistake to make as it is not just that I don't want to eat chicken, but now that will be thrown in the bin and it is an absolute waste - the climate impact of meat and the animal suffering involved for absolutely no reason. It also shows an absolute disregard for dietary requirements including possible allergies. I had to walk all the way back to the station to get the correct baguette. The staff apologised but not in a particularly animated or genuine way and I am shocked that I wasn't offered a refund. Truly...
Read moreThey sold me two teas (total cost £5.10) with lids on but did not notify me that I would need to add my own milk. By the time I realised my teas were milkless I was ensconced in carriage U of the 1215 to London Euston with no access to milk. I am really upset because although I quite like black tea, I was really in the mood for tea with milk. I phoned the store to tell them what happened, and the operative was gracious enough to apologise, but, it really is too little too late. I live by the maxim "once bitten, twice shy", so I WILL NOT be going back to this Upper Crust. I may even blacklist all Upper Crusts. The sandwiches...
