Visiting Gino D'Acampo's restaurant in Manchester for Mother’s Day was a pleasant experience overall. The staff were friendly and attentive, going out of their way to make us feel welcome. Their helpful nature certainly set a positive tone for the evening. However, there were notable delays between courses, which left us waiting longer than expected. While a quicker service would have enhanced the experience, the warm ambiance helped to bridge these gaps. The garlic bread options we had for starters were a definite highlight—flavorful, warm, and thoroughly enjoyed by all. For mains, we had a mix of pasta dishes and the Sunday roast. The pasta was excellent, showcasing delightful textures and flavors that left us impressed. The Sunday roast, on the other hand, was decent; while the vegetables and gravy were well-prepared and flavorful, the beef had a tad more fat than I would have preferred. One thoughtful touch that stood out was the complimentary glass of prosecco for the ladies—an elegant gesture that added to the celebratory mood of Mother’s Day. In summary, despite the service pacing being less than ideal, the friendly staff, delicious garlic bread, and attention to details like the complimentary prosecco made it a lovely dining experience.

Updating my review to reflect me going back a second time. This time was great and everything top notch especially the food and service. I had a wonderful 3 course meal. It was a lovely night and the experience was miles different than my first time. I’m glad the management has taken steps to do better. I look forward to visiting again I came here on the 25th of December to celebrate my birthday with a dinner. The service was terrible and I was kept waiting for 2 hours before getting a single meal and over an hour before even getting seated. This put me in a terrible mood on a day I should be celebrating. The food itself was good but how could I have enjoyed it with the poor service experience. I would also say that all meals for Christmas Day were pre booked and a deposit of £40pp paid in advance, so the restaurant knew how many people were coming on the day and there was no reason for people not to be seated at the right time or for the place to be overbooked. I did not enjoy my experience and they tainted my otherwise beautiful birthday.

Odd experience, what looked like an entrance with a menu, stairs, door turned out to be shut. We eventually found the right entrance. We waited at what looked like a waiting point to be sat at our table, a few staff just ignored us and walked past, so we moved forward a little bit more and eventually got noticed. We sat down at our table, almost an empty restaurant but we were sat right at the front unlike other diners who had a view out of the windows. Asked for a bread basket, got given 5 toasted slices of rustic bread (well there were 5 of us so I'm guessing one per person they thought was plenty as it was free). Meals came out pretty quickly, service was ok. I was expecting the chicken to be warm on the Caesar salad rather than straight out of the fridge. All in all a nice place, good food just felt like a strange place.

I recently dined at Gino D'Acampo's Restaurant and had the absolute pleasure of being served by Jonny, whose impeccable service made the evening unforgettable. Jonny, with his great beard and charming Manchester accent, instantly brought a warm and welcoming vibe to our table.

What stood out even more than his excellent service was Jonny's passion for snowboarding in the Canadian Rockies. His stories about his adventures on the slopes were captivating and added a unique personal touch to our dining experience. It's not every day you get to hear about thrilling snowboarding escapades while enjoying a delicious meal!

Jonny's attentiveness and genuine enthusiasm were evident throughout the evening. He made excellent recommendations from the menu, ensuring each dish was perfectly suited to our tastes. His knowledge of the menu and the ingredients was impressive, and his suggestions greatly enhanced our dining experience.

From keeping our glasses filled to checking in at just the right moments, Jonny's service was flawless. His friendly nature and engaging personality made us feel like we were dining with a friend rather than just a server.

Overall, Jonny's exceptional service, combined with his unique background and passion for snowboarding, made our visit to Gino D'Acampo's Restaurant a truly special occasion. If you find yourself dining here, do yourself a favor and ask for Jonny. You'll be in...

Me and my partner have eaten here probably half a dozen times in the last year (we live just over the road so no excuse not to). Every single time we have been the service has been exemplary. The staff are attentive, enthusiastic, and are always in good spirits. The place itself is beautifully decorated, very chic with lofty ceilings, large windows and nice low lighting for the ambience. I could sit and just listen to the music for hours the playlist is that good. As for the food- superb. A simple but very fresh take on Italian cuisine. You are not overwhelmed by the menu, and there is more than enough to choose from. Once when I came, the calamari (which is exquisite) was over cooked. I normally hate complaining but because the staff are so friendly I didn’t feel awkward mentioning this. It was replaced straight away and the replacement calamari was cooked to perfection. We always try to bring friends here if they are visiting us in Manchester as it’s our go to for great food and atmosphere. The only thing that perplexes me is that it is never that busy. It is by far and away one of the best places to eat in Manchester, and puts other places that are busier to shame, both in the level of the food and service. I suspect that because it is attached to a hotel, most people don’t think of it as a high end quality place to go to. They are wrong. This is one of Manchester's secret gems. Highly...

Tried this new venue having already been a fan of the previous place in the Corn Exchange. The first thing I have to say is the service was outstanding. This is the best I have experienced in a long time and way above and beyond what I would expect from somewhere like Gino’s which is actually a chain. From the greeter who took our coats to all the waiting staff, it was friendly and attentive. Little touches like placing your napkin, filling up your water glass every time it was half full (tap water in nice bottles) and bring a new bottle when it was empty make all the difference. And of course a complimentary limoncello goes without saying! It really was a cut above. The ambiance of the place is also very nice with high quality furnishings. It was only let down ever so slightly by the food in my opinion. I went calamari (very good with added fried peppers and courgette) and a Ribeye Steak. The steak was a little disappointing for the price and just came with chips and a sauce. Nicely cooked, but just not the best bit of meat. But perhaps I shouldn’t have ordered steak in an Italian, I don’t usually? My wife was very happy with her salmon pasta though. So all in all a great experience and if it wasn’t for the steak it would have been 5 stars all round. And check out the names of the cocktails,...
