First off I would like to start on a positive note and say the presentation of the food here is very good but that is where the positive ends... Myself and group of friends came here for the 1st time for my birthday and to start we booked a table for 19:00 a week before our visit and got numerous phone calls leading up to the day to change our booking time as the restaurant had taken an additional booking that they couldn't handle for 20:25, they wanted to let us know that we had to vacate the table by 20:25. As people I'm sure are aware when you have a group for a birthday meal they can't finish a 3 course or even a 2 course meal comfortably in 1 hour 25 mins that was the first thing that annoyed us about this restaurant and when we came on the night it went downhill from there. 1 - we got seated at 19:10 then after 15/20 mins no one came to take our order so we had to get the attention of the staff to initiate them to take our order. 2 - the food although well presented was tasteless, bland and probably the worse Indian food I've ever had and I'm Indian so I know my food. 3 - the next point is that the wait time between clearing our starters and getting our mains was 30mins and when the restaurant wants the table back by a certain time you would expect the staff to be quick in getting your food and clearing your table. 4 - after the mains my friends wanted to surprise me and get the staff to bring out a cake they bought but the manager said to me that we needed to clear the table and got rid of our drinks without us finishing them and told my friends that he wasn't going to bring the cake out for us as they wanted the table back so we felt rushed and my friends brought the cake out for me, on top of that the staff didn't provide with any plates or cutlery to eat the cake so packed the cake away and asked for the bill as we felt like we were getting kicked out because the manager on numerous occasions tried to rush us and told us he needed the table!! 5 - we got up and went to the till to make payment where none of the staff or management were interested in taking payment from us, we were stood there for 10/15min we tried to get the attention of the staff but they weren't acknowledging us. The manager also kept saying bye and was practically walking us out of the restaurant without taking payment from us. So then we left because he wasn't taking payment and we had such a bad experience. 6 - the manager then contacted us regarding payment and we wanted to be compensated with a reduced bill because of the poor experience we had but the manager refused and threated myself and my party with the police which I didn't appreciate! To conclude the manager didn't take any blame or fault for the poor service, overbooking and rubbish food and had excuses for everything that happened rather then solutions and admitting fault on his and his staffs behalf. We made full payment after harassment from the manager. I NEVER EXPECTED SOMEONE WHO CLAIMS FINE DINING TO TREAT HIS CUSTOMERS THIS WAY. IF YOU LIKE AND KNOW YOUR FOOD THEN DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE!! P.S the manager is threatening me and my friends and harassing us because he can't take criticism and everyone who gives him a bad review he responds in such a...
Read moreMy family ate here last night, they couldnt split the bill at the start of the night which we requested. We went on to eat and I had the chicken starter and korma...the korma I requested a little spicy..it wasnt it tasted and looked like nacho cheese sauce and was vile, luckily I mixed a bit of my friends in and ate the chicken and rice, popppadoms were really nice and was the garlic naan, the other people i dined with enjoyed theirs apart from one that had a tomato dish that tasted like basil soup, disappointing to say the least considering 2 doors down does the best korma madras ever! The presentation was lovely and had swirls of sauce around the starters. The wait time was ridiculous and we were waiting a long time for our food and other tables that came in after us got served before us. When it came to paying the bill each group went up and paid for what they had and left a five pound tip each. Then when everyone had finished the owner I assume told us theres a fourth bill for £70 my husband went to talk to him and see where they had gone wrong and he was very rude and assumed we were trying to get out of paying the bill! My husband is not the type to do this and is a law abiding citizen and for him to say this upset him. The staff had made mistakes and put the wrong peoples food on the wrong Bill's, therefore my husband had to pay extra and the staff didnt seem bothered or responsible at all. They also gave the wrong dish to my uncle and had to go and get the right one out, food came out at different times and was unorganised. I wont be eating from here again as something so simple as getting peoples Bill's correct was hard work for them unfortunately embarrassing us and us having to pay extra due to their mistakes. Like I said before 2 doors down and you will not regret it! I also feel that the extra bill they gave us wasn't right as everyone had been up and itemised their bill and left a tip and then they pull out a random receipt that was different peoples orders that they hadn't kept track of. I think they...
Read moreOK so I don't usually write reviews for restaurants I have visited, but felt the need to write one for this place. I had a good time here, but that was all down to the company and not the food. So as a warning to anyone who has a refined palette for Indian/Pakistani food, I would not recommend this place. If you don't, then by all means go, you'll probably love it.
I won't lie, the presentation of the food was done well and the service was definitely above average. The food however was disappointing to say the least. So for the starter, I went simple and ordered veg samosas , which came out alright, but lets be honest you can't really muck up veg samosas. Next came the mains, I ordered the duck curry, and honestly this might be one of the worst curries I have eaten in Manchester, and trust me I have been around and been to some pretty terrible establishments, but even they produced curries with a bit of flavour. If you're paying almost £14 for a curry, first of all you don't expect it to come out in such a small portion. Secondly, and most importantly, the taste was poor. The curry sauce had no flavour and the duck itself was chewy and dry.
Don't be fooled by the interior and the presentation of the food, the prices are generally just over the top. As they describe themselves, they are certainly unique and they are certainly Indian, but that doesn't necessarily make them good or better than...
