Khandoker Indian Restaurant Didsbury — Restaurant in Manchester

Very very disappointed we had a table booked for 7:15 pm it took them 25 minutes just to ask us about a drink and bring some poppadoms then the starter took another 40 minutes and by the time they brought the main course it was 9 pm and the rice looks like it just come out of the microwave The chips were not crispy they were lukewarm and a chicken tikka Buna didn’t look that good the portion size was very small for £10.95 and the small onions inside it were not cooked properly so we just walked out and didn’t touch the main courses and the other thing was they didn’t even bring the numb bread with the main courses I think they just took too much on they had some sort of gathering upstairs but they catered for so overall I think it’s probably just a bad night if they had less people upstairs and less people in the restaurant it just looks cramped and two sets of diners decided to walk out also hope they make...

Not happy! I rang in advance to check they accept a taste card. Was told ‘you usually need a booking, but it’s fine, come in, you can use it’.

When we arrived, the first waiter said ‘you can only use it on a main as you do not have a booking’. When I told him I rang and was told it’s fine he immediately retracted and said ‘ok’.

Since we had never used the taste card before, we asked how it worked and were told it doesn’t include naan, rice or any sides. Not entirely happy with that, since who ever eats a curry without naan or rice!!

When we sat down to look at the menu, one of them had prices scribbled out in black pen (on a black menu) and higher prices written on. It was hardly visible and my husband had to use his phone torch to check the price.

This is the third time I've been to khandoker but probably the last. When we entered the restaurant, the owner met us but then only gestured to the seats we were meant to sit at at the other end of the restaurant where we waited about 10 mins before getting a menu. The restaurant was not busy during our visit Food was not up to usualy taste when we go this restaurant, curry seemed bland. drinks flat as if poured from a bottle open for a while. We felt constantly rushed throughout our meal, with waiters coming to ask to clear our plates when although possibly nearly finished we were still eating.
