This park is an absolute gem, especially during the warmer months of spring and summer. The atmosphere is calm and refreshing, making it perfect for a relaxing day outdoors. As you enter, there’s a charming little café right by the main gate ideal for grabbing brunch or a coffee before you start exploring. Beyond that, you’ll find a great selection of restaurants both inside and just outside the park, so food options are never a problem.
One of the best things about this place is how spacious it feels. Whether you're walking solo, with friends, or taking the dog out, there's plenty of room to wander without feeling crowded. Nature lovers will appreciate the abundance of flowers, peaceful ponds, and the gentle river that winds through the park. If you’re up for a bit of adventure, there’s a hidden spring and a small waterfall tucked away easy to find if you follow the map or know where to look.
It’s also a fantastic spot for jogging or casual strolls. The paths are well-kept, and the scenery changes beautifully with the seasons. Whether you're snapping photos, enjoying the wildlife, or just soaking in the quiet, this park offers a perfect escape from the noise of everyday life. Definitely worth returning to...
Read moreParsonage gardens and Fletcher Moss in Didsbury are great places to stroll around and relax. Parsonage gardens are beautiful, well maintained full of gorgeous shrubs, trees and flowers, there are lots of benches to sit on and a lawn for picnics. The old parsonage is now a community centre, it has the most beautiful ornate art nouveau stained glass windows. Cross the road past the wonderful old church and down to Fletcher Moss park. This is great dog walking area, leading down to the river. There is the Alpine cafe and gardens here too. The cafe is made up of 2 food vans, selling wraps, ice creams, coffee, cold drinks etc, seating is outdoors, lots of benches, fairy lights strung between the trees making it a quite magical place, There is a toilet block here, but was locked up by 4pm when we visited in April. A short walk from there brings you to a boardwalk, fantastic to see birds, butterflies, dragon flies etc. There are two pubs next to the Parsonage gardens too, so really recommended for a pleasant...
Read moreThis is a nice place to go for a walk or take your dog. You can also go for a run, jog, or ride a bike. We took two push scooters with us, but some of the paths were not easy for scooters. There are many cafés and places to eat near the park, so you can have something to drink or eat after walking. The botanical gardens are very pretty and worth visiting. It is a good place to spend time outside and enjoy nature. The park is big, so there is space for everyone. Parking is a bit small, and it can be difficult to find a place, especially on a busy day like Sunday. There are also tennis courts that you can rent if you want to play. Overall, it is a good place for families, friends, or anyone who wants to enjoy outdoor activities. You can walk, play, or just relax and enjoy the fresh air. It is easy to spend a...
