The restaurant is clean, modern, sleek and very nicely decorated but unfortunately that is all it has going for it. We ordered a variety of items from the menu and were looking forward to having some really good food but the curries for me, were extremely spicy and i was unable to enjoy it so i didn't eat much. We told the waiter that we didn't want spicy food because we had kids with us so he suggested we order our curries medium and we did but if that is medium i hate to find out what they call spicy. I read some reviews after eating here and a lot of people are saying the food was bland so maybe they have changed their ingredients and are now adding extra chillies to enhance flavour but chillies are the wrong ingredient. The portions are smaller than other restaurants and the food doesn't taste like its been made by a professional chef. The chicken curry was boneless chicken cut into tiny baby pieces and then spread out on the dish, not worth the money spent on it. I also ordered the papri chaat as i had tried it the previous night at Scene (awesome), however here it was bland and lacked everything even papri, it was more a bland chana chaat. The lamb was soft so that's something positive. Before coming here we tried a few other restaurants but their waiting times were 45 minutes to an hour. MyLahore was our first choice as we ate there a few nights ago and food, service, staff, all exceedingly brilliant. Even the drinks here were a let down, the lassi and fruit juices. Suppose restaurants are a hit and miss these days and you need to try them and judge for yourself as everyone's taste buds...

Nothing bad to say about the food because it was decent and well priced. Environment was nice BUT BUT BUT… the waiters are a problem. Speaking with each other right next to me and my friends, looking over multiple times, walking past us continuously and singing songs. At the end when I spoke back to him in Urdu he was shocked and said to the other waiter “oh she understands Urdu”. A group of girl friends wanting to eat and talk in peace but with 2 waiters walking past them repeatedly and staring up and down and smiling flirtatiously is not service. I’m sure the person who reads these reviews and replies to them, knows who those 2 waiters are. They constantly spoke in Urdu which I don’t mind but they were talking in Urdu simply because they thought we didn’t understand it but when I replied back in Urdu he was shocked because we understood everything they said about us before. The waiters seem to be the issue this restaurant is getting bad reviews because honestly the food wasn’t bad at all. I don’t usually write reviews but I think It’s important for the manager/owner of this place to take serious action against these employees since this isn’t the first occasion and other replies have said that action has been taken and waiters have been trained but it doesn’t seem like it. Won’t be going here again, not because of the food but because I wasn’t able to enjoy that food or my birthday meal out because 2 male waiters wouldn’t stop looking me up and down and made the whole experience really...

Mussarat's Restaurant - Takeaway food - Rusholme, Manchester

A Big Disappointment!... Went to Mussarat's yesterday for an evening meal with family. We were greeted and taken to our seats quickly. A variety of meals & drinks were ordered and the food was received in around 25mins which is roughly expected in Rusholme.

The quality of the food was Extremely Disappointing!.. Mix Grill was a bit 'dry' and curry's were just 'passable' for Rusholme standards. The rice given was Awful! (dry & still hard with no taste). The customer service received was good but others in our group felt as though we were being rushed to order the food.

We were also offered a plate of Popdoms which we accepted, but in hind-sight probably not worth it - It reminded me of my experience of Rusholme back in the 80s/90s when most Takeaways/Restaurants would offer these. I also noticed that there were many unoccupied/empty seats in the restaurant which is usually a sure sign that things may not be so great here!

I would recommend Mussarat's Owners have a closer look at the QUALITY of their food that comes out of the kitchen and ask themselves WOULD THEY EAT IT??

In comparison - I was in Torros Restaurant the week before also in Rusholme where my experience of the food received was Much Better - I would give Torros a 8 out of 10 (8/10).

My Overall Score at Mussarat's Restaurant is: 2 out...

Pleasantly surprised 😳 Nice curry dishes and burgers; curry portion sizes were smaller than expected 🤨 1. Tasty dishes and filling burgers: went for the veg option / palak paneer with two rotis, very tasty but still had half roti left over (price / value meh); skip across the road to Saajan if you want better value but in less luxurious setting 😉- The burgers were all well made and presented (Chicken Peri Peri & XX Special Burgers) - all halal and not licensed, perfect! 👍 2. Plenty of seating / can be long waiting time: large restaurant / plenty of seating inside; family friendly; we went on a Tuesday evening around 7pm / was less lively; got our food in 25 mins - Did get busier / more lively towards magrib time / 8pm! 3. Customer service: polite and to the point 😉 - Waiters always happy to help with any needs during the meal 4. Prayer room facilities: for those inclined that way ask management, local Masjid 5 mins walk away 5. Busy area with paid and limited street parking options: all safe and secure, it's Wilmslow Road 😉 / we usually park near Manchester Victoria Park Mosque then walk in 👍

Very disappointed with the food quality and presentation! Ordered the Steak £19. Bit on the pricey side. Expected a decent sized steak with veg, Mash and chips as standard (like every other place). On recieving the food all we got was a steak (like ones you get frozen) and FRIES! Yes fries like you get with your £2 Dixies meal. Peppercorn sauce poured over steak instead of separate pot and thats all!!! After challenging the waiter he told us if we want the extras we will have to pay for them as they don't come alongside the steak. £19 for a steak and French fries!!! You having a laugh..... had a better meal at Dixies for £2. The meat was rubbery with lots of jelly like fat within it. Barely any taste and had a strong meaty smell. Fries were like biting into pieces of twigs. Very disappointed, considering this was to be a top end street food restaurant. To be honest didn't see any street food on menu. On our way out the Manager asked us about the food. We were straight up and said you won't see us here again.
