I we are visiting Manchester and had looked on line to eat with entertainment and this place fitted the bill. I booked on line for the 14th Feb no problems. Was looking to book also bottomless brunch for the 15th called up twice to make this reservation to be told I would get a call back which never happened so hence we have booked else where. Turned up last night the bar was busy. All the staff standing chatting and I had to approach them we With my reservation it also looked to be they were not expecting us. I had requested a better seating area but never the less we got put in the window and still looking forward to our night planned here. My husband went to the bar and obviously stood in the wrong place to be greeted by the staff member and to be told “FYI you won’t get served there it’s the other side of the bar” lovely talk…. Anyway our food arrived we ordered the mixed bag. They smelt lovely something different for us. How ever absolutely stone cold. It would have been hotter from a takeaway. I approached a young girl in the bar who turned to another young lad and had a chat with there back towards me! Now I’m feeling very awkward like I have done something wrong! He didn’t look best pleased at all with me. He walked to the table and stood no apologies I let him feel the food no offer of fresh or warned up just stood with an annoyed face. I then asked for a refund he walked away came back in plonked the money in my hand again no response but my money was short! I asked why to be responded with so you wavy that one refunded too? Yeah obviously there both the same again he came back even more annoyed. Hence we finished our drinks and left. Lovely start to our break away. I get that we all have bad days but it definitely showed last night. As you can imagine we won’t be back...

I pre-booked a table for 4 as we were due to see Peter kay at the AO arena that evening however we were stuck in traffic so I tried calling over 30mins to let them know but no one answered the phone so I could make them aware. We arrived at the restaurant to see if we could still have a table and I tried explaining that I had tried calling to let them know but we were late so could we still have a table... the server looked around and basically said 'well we cant answer as you can see we are busy!' I found us a table, asked if we could sit there and the server nodded but no one even explained how to order food or drinks and then darted out of sight leaving us to try work out what we had to do. I couldn't access the online order via the QR code as there was no access so eventually went to the busy bar to ask for help only to be told that if I was going to the show then it would be pointless ordering food as it wouldnt be ready in time, I wish we would've been told this when we arrived as it would've been more helpful instead of being told nothing and leaving it far too late to even have anything at all after a busy drive from home and now bot being able to have any tea before our show.... I know the place was busy but there was no one around to ask anything and to be honest it seemed like no one actually wanted to be there either. Its a shame as its in a fabulous area and this visit definitely put a downer on...

So, I'll start with the good - called in for a drink pre Peter kay. Looked quite quiet but soon realised there was going to be some live music , hence the pre booked empty tables. We found a table in the corner and ordered some drinks. Great service. We all decided to order a bite to eat, this being 6pm... by 6.10 we had ordered and our wait began - we were told there would be a 30 minute wait on food. Great - time for another drink then and lots of time to get to the arena... Another round of drinks, still waiting, Then another. Just over an hour had passed - baring in mind absolutely NO ONE else in the building seemed to be eating so not like the kitchen had a rush on. The live music began - which was nice to listen to. Asked at the bar - sorry you're food is on its way now...

Another 20 minutes later, still nothing in sight, we walk back up to the bar to request a refund. At this exact moment our food began to appear... at 7.40pm... a shame as we now have to rush to eat. The food itself - the burgers were nice enough... but the cheesy garlic pizza bread didn't have one strand of cheese, and the taco things had obviously been sat on a hot plate somewhere - dry and stale. Such a shame. We were offered no apology, no explanation and just seemed a really poor set up... Ate and...

I wasn’t that impressed with the food in all honesty. The chips did not taste triple cooked at all. And my toastie came with a microscopic amount of slaw, on bizarrely, a lettuce leaf? Which I don’t think was mentioned on the menu. Stop trying to be fancy, nothing wrong with just a good old fashioned plate. To be fair the waitress got me some more slaw, albeit, after asking the chef if it was ok. But she tried telling me the slaw was for decoration and that was why there was so little of it. Erm no it says toasties are ‘served with’ slaw on the menu. I also had a mug of tea which was nice but it would have been nice to have somewhere to put my used tea bag other than straight on to the table. Appeared to be clean but our table was wobbly.

Cocktails were great, even got free ones thanks for that. Not impressed with food - first pizzas burnt, refused and asked for replacement. Got undercooked one as a result. avoid cheapest stake, was so salty and well done i couldnt taste the meat... Our Main large table was reserved, speakers aimed at us bursting eardrums and us shouting like mad to be able to communicate. If youre into live music and disco songs from 80s, like the rest of UK pubs, go ahead and visit, but if screens with women boxing on every corner or football is not your thing, find a more civilised place somewhere else to sit down and enjoy your evening. Should have researched...

I had such a fantastic time at O’Neill’s in the Printworks Manchester. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming with great music that kept the energy going all night. The drinks were really good with plenty of choice and they were served quickly and at a great standard. The staff were friendly and helpful which made the whole experience even better. It felt like the perfect mix of a fun night out and a relaxed place where you can just enjoy yourself with friends. I would definitely recommend O’Neill’s to anyone looking for a great spot in Manchester for music drinks and a brilliant atmosphere.
