As non residents recently arriving in Manchester, we found this place via Google. Reviews of 4 stars! Pah! Got directed by reception, down stairs. Asked for a table for four and had to wait for table to be cleared. Literally only three tables were taken in what looks to be an extensive restaurant. We should have realised then we were going be dissapointed. Were were hungry and sat down. After 10 mins no one came to serve us. Asked at the bar to be told "you have to order at the bar". There is nothing any where on the bar or restaurant that indicates this. OK, we order at the bar or at least we tried. On what was not an extensive menu most options were not available. Ordered 2 8oz Ribeye steaks, medium rare, with skin on fries and onion rings. Food was delivered around 8.30pm, one was medium the other cremated! No one came to the table to ask how our meals were and failed to bring the onion rings. All for meals, that you have to pay up front for! Coupled with the beers not available from the bar and to be told we couldn't order a desert because the kitchen closed at 9, our complaint was to be heard. Went to reception to speak to the manager. To be told we were told at check in, we would have known. We were walk ins! Manager was useless! Apologised but couldn't accept responsibility! I showed her the 3.9 review and the fact that the website showed the restaurant was still open! She apologised that they weren't up to our standards, in fact they are not living up to their own standards! They get a 1 star as there is nothing lower! Massively dissapoited with the start to our weekend...

The staff looked after us and their humour was enthralling : they could see we were drenched due to rain, and loaded with bags they joked the restaurant was closed !
We chose nachos and 12 chicken wings to share as a starter. The chilli beef on the nacho was amazing - not minced beef - more stewed steak and the nachos were home made and to die for
The bbq chicken wings were tasty
I struggled to finish the pizza - it was delicious too !
With a couple of gins the bill came to £47
The restaurant was in the basement so leaving we struggled as the lift required you to be a resident . A young man promised to give me a fireman’s lift up the stairs - it was my best offer all day and caused endless amusement on the train journey back to Huddersfield ;)
This is a great place to eat - it wasn’t too busy and food was delicious
It’s not far from Oxford Rd...
Read moreWe stopped here for tea. We had to find someone to serve us, then they didn't know how to serve a simple drink. A lady said they'd come and take our meal order and we waited 30mins before I went to find someone and turns out that server had gone home. Then most things weren't available on the menu and my partners burger was dry and tastless. The table next to us had the same experience. It was a all round bad experience and I'll...
