Turtle Bay Manchester Oxford Rd — Restaurant in Manchester

Poor. I am clearly not the demographic, however the experience was terrible. I don't drink and I don't like spicy food. I shouldn't have gone, however I was outnumbered in a group of 5 so I'd rather not disappoint everyone else.

Booked a table and was told it didn't exist. Had to wait 25 minutes to be seated despite showing email confirmation of booking. Staff member agreed we had made it, however it wasn't on their system.

It then took us going up to the bar to order drinks after 40 minutes of having no one come to our table, to be told to sit down as we are a hazard and it is table service only. I explained we had been sat for almost 45 minutes and got asked if we sat ourselves, having to go through our booking mishap all over again.

The only toilets I could see were up a big staircase in the middle of the floor. I asked f there were any disabled toilets on the bottom floor as I have chronic knee issues that had flared up badly and I was unable to do such steep steps. The member of staff said they "had" to accompany me and wait for me to be finished by waiting outside? Sorry but I'm not a child and it's an invasion of privacy. The toilet was practically flooding, or maybe someone can't aim into a toilet? Either way, the toilet checklist hadn't been updated in months and it stunk (I know it's a toilet, but it was rancid)

The music is mind-numbingly loud. I couldn't hear myself think and I couldn't hear the person sat next to me.

Luckily, there was a TEENY TINY basic/English menu, so I opted for the Burger for almost £20. It didn't even come with chips and to my surprise, there was no cheese, no salad, no sauce. Just a kids portion size small burger bun, with a singular patty. The worst burger I have ever had. And it took another 45 minutes to come.

When I went to pay my portion of the bill, I noticed I had been overcharged by almost £10. I was told this was a non-optional tip. I asked them politely to take this off as the service received was poor, as was the food. I was told a flat out "No, we work very hard for tips" - I have no doubt in my mind, on any other day, you do work very hard for tips, however 1. This is England. You are paid a living wage and 2. The service we received was not tippable. To make it worse, this almost £10 was PER PERSON. That is an extra £50 on top of our regular bill.

The food was lovely, the service was excellent our server Owen was extremely friendly and quick with offering us new drinks would definitely recommend.

We were served served by Abi and she was amazing. She was super quick with the service and always greeted us with a smile. She couldn’t do enough for us and was extremely friendly. She was making jokes and laughing with us I would definitely recommend to have her as your server the definition of perfect customer service! The good and drinks were lovely and very quick as well. Could not reccomend enough. The bottomless brunch is great value for money!😊

Abi is amazing! she is extremely quick with bottomless brunch and so welcoming. I wouldn’t want anyone else serving me. She is a credit to the company and deserves all the praise and love she can get!!! SLAY QUEEN ABI!!! definitely the definition of perfect customer’s service. GIVE THE GIRL A RAiSE

Another trip to Turtle bay and the service was amazing as always. We were served by Kira. She was the friendliest, bubbliest, most lovely server ever. She was so quick with our drinks orders and food. She continually checked on us to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed and even wished me a happy birthday. Kira made my 21st birthday the best, she’s a credit to the company! She was so kind and happy all the staff especially Kira, Abi and Owen, Turtle bay are lucky to have them. Definitely recommend!!!

Hii, back with another food review!

If you know me and follow on my socials( especially Instagram) then you will know turtle bay is my go to place for good food, dinks and vibes.

The atmosphere always transports me straight to the islands, having travelled to some it’s really checks off all the necessities for the Caribbean feel!!

My friend and I popped over on a day out in town. Guess what made us go in?the “2-4-1 cocktail deal”! We usually go to the branch on northern quarter so we already knew the drinks and food were superb!so why not?? We asked ourselves as we smiled in.

We ordered 2 different drinks each and swapped 1 as usual! Our picks were: the Caribbean Candy Sour & Reggae Rum Punch! Trust me both were refreshing and minutes later our giggles could definitely heard from across the room!

We also had some starters to share alongside the drinks. They were out of crispy chilli squid which is a personal fave so I opted for another seafood dish, the Garlic Pit Prawns and Good gosh!! It comes served with grilled roti, and it was absolutely delicious!!our other choice was the Rum BBQ Wings another personal fave of ours and delicious as usual!!

The staff were excellent, we went on weekday so it wasn’t too crowded and just right for us. Happy hour, 2-4-1 runs everyday from day till 6:30pm and 9:30pm till late. Soo make sure you pop in sometime to treat yourself, lover, friend or family to this! 10/10, it...
