I am going to preface this with the fact that I have never left a negative review before.
Decent atmosphere when I first walked in with family. Service was also good at first , but after some confusion one of the wait staff brought the wrong drink out. For reference, the drink I wanted was a caramel machiato frappe but a hot machiato was brought out. This was confusing as I pointed towards the frappe, and every other drink on that page on the menu was an iced/frappe coffee so no idea why a hot one would have been brought out, but no biggie right? When I tried to correct her she told me off and tried to gaslight us into saying we ordered the wrong thing. When I explained I pointed at the menu for direct reference the waiter said "well I can't read". I wish I was joking but I couldn't make it up. Another waiter or manager came up to us shortly after we asked for the correct drink and asked me to double confirm that I wanted the frappe as I had ordered incorrectly last time. I felt that was unnecessary as I had already let the waiter know and again the nanager is insinuating that I ordered inccorectly initially. After we had gotten the food my partner had gone to use the bathroom whilst we had over half the food still left on the plate. The same waiter who got the Order wrong initially came, WITH the bill and card machine at the ready. I've never felt so rushed and so directly treated poorly. They made a simple mistake and all they had to do was correct it, but instead the endeavored to try and humiliate me ? Very strange experience and not a place I'd like to revisit as a result.
I personally think that this is an isolated incident so assuming that this doesn't happen to you, my review is as follows;
The buns are overpriced and not that big. I struggle to understand what the Hype is surrounding it. The food itself took over 40 mins to come. This was 2 buns so the wait was definitely not worth it. In terms of taste they were good but nothing honestly...
   Read moreSo disappointed and left quite upset ! Trust me I write this with great difficulty , I originally come from Dubai and Pappa roti is a home comfort for me , so when they opened I was their biggest ambassador , Iâve personally sent multiple groups and been there twice since they opened! I engage regularly on their instagram and absolutely love the brand to bits. But today was horrendous, as soon as we went in till the minute we left , we just were served by someone who couldnât wait for us to leave. From the beginning as soon as we were seated down to be told to push my chair in when the restaurant was fully empty, to once we were seated on the table to be told there would be a table service charge, to the server almost treating us like it was a burden to serve us ! When we mentioned this to the manager we were told the sever had complained we had spilt a hot drink on her( I assure you this was not true) and also that we werenât allowed to change the baby in the pram ( which seriously I have no issues with and would have happily gone to the changing room , should she have mentioned this to me directly, I didnât know a cafe fit out would have a separate baby changing area , which in hindsight I should have enquired about). I donât know if she had an issue with us dressed in Palestinian garb since we came from the protests or just had a bad day , but genuinely made our group of 8 feel unwanted ! With premium prices on their product I genuinely expect...
   Read moreEasily one of the most irritating and uncomfortable shop experiences Iâve had in a long time. Walked in for a bottle of water â before I could even take 2 steps inside, a staff member followed me around the shop, shoving a menu in my face and repeatedly asking me to look at it, despite it being obvious I wasnât there for food. Went to the counter to ask if the drink selection was listed on the wall, only to be met with a patronising, passive-aggressive comment: âThatâs what he was talking aboutâ â as if I was being difficult for simply asking a normal question.
I then sat at a four-seater table next to a charging port to quickly charge my phone while deciding what to do, only for another staff member to come over and tell me Iâd have to move if anyone else came in â while the place was basically empty. Why offer seating and charging ports if youâre going to police them pointlessly?
To top it off, another customer bumped into me and instead of a normal quick apology, proceeded to loudly shout âSORRYâ repeatedly in the middle of the shop, drawing unnecessary attention like Iâd been hit by a car, not brushed past in a doorway.
Unprofessional, socially clueless staff and an environment where you feel hounded the minute you step inside. Wonât ever go back. Avoid it unless you enjoy being hovered over and made to feel like an inconvenience...
