Unicorn Manchester — Restaurant in Manchester

Update (Nov 2019). I visited twice in last two weeks: 1st time during a Saturday afternoon when only one real ale available. 10 days later on Tuesday afternoon there were No real ales, hence removing one star!

However, I have visited on numerous occasions over the years. A traditional pub with generally 3 real ales available on hand pump. One of the few places in Manchester that normally sells Bass on draught! Décor is classic with a slightly unusual bar design but is pleasant. The men's toilets have been updated- I guess in the last year as I am not a regular but they have done a good job.

Prices are reasonable compared with a lot of the overpriced Northern quarter bars nearby, so not noticed any hipsters present on my visits. A bus stop is just outside so also brilliant for a night cap. Well worth a visit if they start selling real ales again, as in hand...

We came here and ordered 2 pitchers. Firstly, the way the manager spoke to us when we first walked in was an impolite and rough. We tried to move on, could just be one of those days for him. Fine. Then, 1 of the pitchers we ordered tasted like it had zero alcohol in it at all. Like zero. Just watered down completely. I went to the bar to ask if they were able to put a little extra in or even to just remake it and if it were to taste the same, then fine. But Terry, lady working, rudely said she made it, if I wasn’t happy, order it again. I’ve already spent £16? I talked to a manager, he says he trusts his staff have done the job correctly and that if we’re not happy, we have to pay for more alcohol. If I wanted to drink water, I’d buy a 50p bottle from...

Ok place. People seem friendly. You do get guys trying to hit on you or grab you. I had a guy grab my backside in here and also one watching me everywhere I went (Stared at myself and my friends for a good while, we left shortly after we spotted him). Not a place for young women, even in a group and watch out for each other. The older men here don't seem to have boundaries or respect for women. I doubt this pub even knows what and 'Angel Shot' is when ordered from the bar. Great staff,...
