Was excited to try popeyes after years of social media video and was left feeling that regular chicken shops make it better , manchester is known for fried chicken so its was no where near as good howvwrr I would day somthings are better than kfc and some wasn't here my rating for what I ordered
1 mild piece of chicken Rating 6.5/10 Nice and juicy Chicken with crispy batter however its very oily and you the flavour taste of oil didn't hit the spot I would say kfc do better piece of chicken
3 wings Rating 6/10 Again similar to piece of chicken Nice and juicy chicken, crispy batter ,oily and imo its better than kfc ones
2 spicy tenders Rating 7/10 Again Nice a Juicy but feel you can't really notice the spicy flavour and had way to much batter , again oily and wasn't as good as your local Chicken shop tenders
Chips Rating 9/10 This was my favourite item ,it taste like wedges but its fries , was slightly disappointed with the portion size in the savers menu ,it was tiny like the small portion you gets in a kids meal ,would of been 10/10 if it was a decent portion
Gravy Rating 7.5/10 I was expecting this to be really good but kfc gravy is wayy better ,this one taste like Christmas stuffing mixed with gravy
biscuit Rating 4.5/10 Never tried biscuit before looks like a scone but imagine it was fried and it hard crispy outside shell and soft inside with...
Read moreSTOP PRESSURISING CUSTOMERS TO GIVE 5* REVIEWS! IF YOU ARE BEING FORCED TO LEAVE FAKE 5* REVIEWS PLEASE LET OTHERS KNOW ON HERE I went in today to enjoy my meal. Ordering is ok, but wait time to get food was pretty long. I waited 10 minutes for my food to come out. No smiles from staff, a dull atmosphere. Food was abit dry, but edible. Not the best quality. As i was about to leave, to my surprise, one staff member -a Indian girl with a low pony tail, came rushing to me and my friend. She stopped us and Said we can't leave the store until we leave a 5* review. She stood over us, and watched us take out our phones and did not let us leave until the fake 5* was posted. It made us feel very uncomfortable and it is actually a form of harassment. I will not be visiting again. The only reason I posted this review was because Popeyes is generally a good branch at other places. Looking at how fast new reviews are pouring in on here, all 5, its very suspicious, and if you read the reviews that are not 5 they are all complaining about being forced into giving 5. To Management: Tell your staff to stop harassing customers for fake 5 reviews and actually work harder and be more friendlier for genuine good reviews. I am shocked this is even allowed, not being able to leave a shop without staff towering over you to give 5*,...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at Popeyes Chicken in Manchester. I was genuinely looking forward to trying it, but the food quality was shockingly poor.
The chicken I was served was extremely, excessively oily — so much so that it was almost glistening with oil. It looked like it had just been pulled out of the fryer and tossed directly into the box without even the slightest attempt to drain or rest it. There was no crispiness, no flavour balance — just an overwhelming taste and smell of deep-fried oil.
Every bite felt like I was chewing on a sponge soaked in grease. Even the packaging was starting to stain from the oil. It was simply unappetizing and not edible. I couldn’t finish my meal, which says a lot considering how much I enjoy fried chicken in general.
It’s really disappointing coming from a well-known international brand like Popeyes. There’s clearly a serious issue with kitchen quality control or staff training at this branch. A bit of care in preparation — allowing chicken to rest, draining properly, or even just checking before serving — would make a huge difference.
Sadly, based on this visit, I wouldn’t recommend this location. I hope Popeyes takes this feedback seriously, because with the right improvements, the food could live up to the hype — but right now, it’s...
