I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to visit the Bar Burrito located in Piccadilly Gardens, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of dreadful. As someone who frequents Bar Burrito establishments, I was expecting the same level of quality and service that I have come to appreciate. However, this particular branch left me deeply disappointed and frustrated.
One of the first issues I encountered was the utter lack of customer service from the staff. It was evident that they had no interest in providing a positive experience for their patrons. Their demeanor was consistently rude, and I felt unwelcome from the moment I entered the premises. The absence of even a basic level of courtesy was truly disheartening.
Furthermore, it was astonishing to witness the sheer incompetence displayed by the staff. On the day of my visit, I arrived at the supposed opening time, only to be told to wait outside for an additional ten minutes. I patiently obliged, only to be informed, after the lengthy wait, that the restaurant was only offering takeaways. This lack of clear communication was extremely frustrating and made me question the professionalism and organizational skills of the establishment.
Moreover, the overall service during my visit was abysmal. Not a single staff member wore a smile or displayed any willingness to assist customers. Their apathetic attitude further accentuated the negative atmosphere and left me with a lingering feeling of dissatisfaction. It is disheartening to see such a lack of dedication and pride in one's work, especially in the service industry where customer satisfaction should be paramount.
The overall experience at Bar Burrito in Piccadilly Gardens was, without a doubt, one of the worst encounters I have had with this franchise. The combination of rude staff, poor communication, and lackluster service has tarnished my perception of this particular branch. It is no surprise that they are consistently devoid of customers, unlike their more reputable counterpart in Arndale.
In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience to steer clear of Bar Burrito in Piccadilly Gardens. The staff's rude behavior, coupled with their complete disregard for customer service, is a recipe for disappointment. It is truly unfortunate to witness such a decline in standards from a franchise that once prided itself on quality. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere for a satisfying...
Read moreHi Owner of Barburrito,
Based on your response, I will expand on my feedback.
We were there on Sunday 9th of March at approx 20:00
I will number the issues that led to my 1 start rating
While we were selecting our burrito toppings, we asked one of your staff members about meat options. His reply, but mainly his attitude, was of someone that typically does not want to be there, does not want to work, does not know how to handle customer facing roles. We honestly felt that asking any question would trigger the staff member to stab us with a spoon or something
We noticed that you have 3 or 4 staff members serving/preparing burritos. It was probably one of the most inefficient food supply lines we have ever seen. One bumping into the other, running like headless chickens.
One of my mates got like 3 spoons of rice on his burrito. It was impossible to eat.
With every bite of that burrito, you honestly had no idea what you were eating. All the ingredients (from the vegetables to the meat) were not fresh at all. At the end, the burrito was like a big dough filled with things that you could not even taste.
I am honestly sorry about this review, because the shop has a lot of potential. But your food is not particularly cheap, and to receive such a bad quality food and really off-putting customer service, makes it impossible to rate you guys higher...

Walking in, we were greeted by a quiet restaurant, with no queue. Behind the counter we saw three members of staff who unfortunately, for the most part ignored us and gave us a bad attitude.
Eventually we were served by a young man who was rude to us, and clearly didn't want to be there. He made us feel as though we were causing a problem being a customer.
For the most part he provided rude customer service, talking and shouting to other staff whilst serving us, leaving us as the customer to feel ignored and unwelcomed.
As we got to the end, and our burritos were made, we paid with a different member of staff, who looked like the manager (wearing a different uniform). He was slightly more polite, but still strangely disregarding of us. This was such a shame to see, as you would expect senior looking members of staff to set a good example for the employees.
We paid and sat down. Strangely, there was no music inside, which (with so few customers instore) led to us only hearing the staff in the back shouting to eachother, laughing, and joking with one another, which further contributed to our frustration.
The standards of the food itself were brilliant. The burritos tasted nice, and we're good value. It is just such a shame that our experience in Barburrito was shrouded by the shadow of poor customer service, and a...
