A Truly Unique Dining Experience
First, the menu was exciting, filled with dishes I had never even heard of, let alone tried. As a keen traveler and food lover, this thrilled me; I always try to eat as authentically as possible. I know this can be daunting for many, but the chef and owner clearly understands this too â he personally introduced himself and brought out a tray showcasing the meze dishes. He described each one and answered all our questions. Being able to see the dishes before choosing was incredibly helpful.
When the actual dishes arrived, they were even better than we could have imagined. One dish, âtopik,â stood out particularly. The owner almost discouraged us from trying it, explaining it was both sweet and savoury and very unusual to the typical British palate â which only made me want it more! Iâm so glad I did: it was a beautiful pie, with a crusty outer layer made from chickpea flour and tahini, encasing a deliciously sweet caramelized onion filling, dusted with cinnamon and pine nuts.
Other standouts included the âHoly Trinityâ and the âTorte Sarma,â while my sweet-toothed partner adored the dessert âKazandibi.â The coffee bean martini and âMangleberry Mocktailâ were also delicious and well worth a mention.
Please, give this restaurant a try! Beyond the amazing food, the welcome we received was wonderful â it genuinely felt like being invited into a Turkish home. The venue is just off the main drag in Didsbury Village, which is a shame because it doesnât get the footfall of places around the corner or on nearby Burton Road. Even more reason to seek it out, I think.
I donât leave reviews often, but I was genuinely struck by the hospitality, the food, and the ownerâs obvious love and passion for making sure every guest has a...

I've driven past this place many times since it opened and not really know what it was all about. But after visiting with my family last week, I now know that it's one of the most interesting and unique new restaurants to open in recent years, not just in Didsbury, but in the whole of Manchester.
It's a small dish concept and every one is superb. Many of the dishes are vegan but you can still find chicken, sea bass, pork and lamb in the menu.
Max or his mum will greet you and make you feel welcome then, once you're settled with a small glass of Turkish tea, he'll introduce the selection of small plates available and talk you through each dish before you order so you know exactly what to expect.
The location, decor and music all work together wonderfully to create a cosy cosmopolitan atmosphere that's like something you'd find in Barcelona or Istanbul. If only we had the weather they have this place would be heaving every weekend!
My family and I loved every mouthful, even the ones with very bold and punchy flavours. There isn't a kids menu but some of the dishes - like the lollipop chicken - went down just as well as the usual nuggets, chips and beans. There's a good selection of drinks for every taste.
I will be returning with anyone I know who appreciates good food and just how much time and dedication it takes to produce something of this standard.
Thank you Max for giving us an unforgettable...
Read moreI was interested in experiencing the restaurant after hearing the owner speaking Turkish as I passed by. My friend and I decided to visit last Thursday after work, around 5:30â6:00 PM. When we arrived, we were told they donât accept anyone without a reservation (there was only 1 table with 2 people). I mentioned that I had checked the website beforehand and didnât recall seeing anything about a reservation-only policy. After checking again later, I still couldnât find any note indicating that walk-ins arenât accepted. Additionally, their online reservation system only allows bookings for Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. It's unclear whether reservations for Wednesdays and Thursdays can only be made by phone. We ended up dining at a nearby restaurant instead. On our way back, just after 7:00 PM, we noticed there were still quite a lot empty tables. If reservations are strictly required, Iâd recommend clearly stating that on your website to avoid confusion and disappointment for future...
