SHAKEDOWN — Restaurant in Manchester

Avoid delivery option!! Paid £30+ and received half the order. Burger and drinks were missing- after calling and being told the rest of our order would be delivered within 20-30 mins in reality we waited for almost 1 hour. The food that did arrive was cold and I was told by Talikah that "the delivery driver said it wasn't cold". How would they know? Awful customer service, fobbed off and no refund has been given yet. I've contacted their Instagram page and will wait for a response. I thought ordering from their website directly would be easier than using Deliveroo- wrong! There are so many other places with better food- please give this place a miss!!!

Edit- a full refund has been issued and a free meal has been offered so I've updated this from a 1 star to 3 star. Not happy with the way we were accused and spoken to on the phone by their staff but happy with the response from the owner.

2nd edit- Shakedown offered me the opportunity to order the same meal free of charge (which was very generous). The order was placed at 6:35 and wasn't delivered until 7:55. Yet again, items were missing from my order. Really disappointed as this was an opportunity for us to regain our trust with this restaurant. I'd recommend ordering take out and steering clear of their delivery service as the food that arrived was nice- at least if you order take out you can double check the full order is there...

@heyshakedown a great burger & desserts place! We’ve tried this place last year (got it as a take out) but the burger was a little soggy due to the foil wrap, so we’d try again, Shakedown 2.0 attempt 😉

We ordered the quad beefed up with the curly fries 🤤 This time, it didn’t disappoint! (It helped that I turned into @lewishamilton on the way back so it wouldn’t get too soggy again) 😂 I’ve tried a few other burger places but this is definitely one of the best, the burger patties were juicy and not dry like a lot of places. The sauces and cheese inside didn’t disappoint and complimented the whole burger, The curly fries were spot on and not too crunchy! The sauce that came with this was the Zesty Buffalo and had the perfect kick 😅👀

To drink: Manchester Bee Milkshake - which is the Honeycomb Pieces, Honey Comb Syrup & Whipped Cream! Milkshake consistency was bang on and creamy! For me personally, not a fan of the milkshake and burger combo as I’d usually go with a normal drink, they have a great selection of American Sodas, which I’ll probably go for next time 😉

Great help from the staff to pick out what we wanted, I would definitely recommend @heyshakedown, if you really love your burgers!

I’ve been here quite a few times now since they had their small takeaway in the middle of Withington and pleased to hear they’ve opened a diner in Wythenshawe which can actually deliver to my house!

I recommend the beefed up meal. The chips are nothing to shout about and the portion size is very standard. I do quite like the cheesy sauce though. The burger is delicious. Soft, juicy, tasty, well seasoned - this is a fantastic smashed burger and definitely is a top 3 beef burger in Manchester. The margins at the top are very small so this could even be your favourite. I’ve tried the fried chicken/beef burger as well but I think solely the beef is the best option.

What would push me over the edge compared to other places is the fact their milkshakes are so good. Without exaggeration they are the best in Manchester (and possibly I’ve ever had) by far. It’s worth coming here just for the milkshakes.

The restaurant itself is actually quite small and pre-Covid it’s a victim of its own success and it’s too popular to expect to sit down especially in the evenings and at night, so I’ve only ever sat down once in early afternoon. The prices have steadily risen over the years but for a milkshake and burger meal it’s quite reasonably priced. Highly...
