Terribly cold and unsatisfying experience. The blonde staff member was completely miserable - she did not even try to feign being polite or a smile. No greeting, no please or thank you. The shop was fairly busy with orders judging by people stood around waiting, so we chose to stay in and sat down. The very simple order took the best part of 10 mins to be ready at which point it was shouted out from behind the counter. You would think that they would simply bring the drink and snack over to the table especially given the times we live in and to prevent the jam around the counter area. It also spoils the vibe for the other customers having the server shout the order out. The coffee was shockingly weak as though the smallest amount of coffee had been added. If I had my eyes closed I could have sworn it was simply hot milk. My advice would be to ditch this miserable, cold hearted corporate chain “coffee” shop and choose a local Withington business such as Fuse, Wildnerness Record Store, Cafe Blah, or Toast. I would even choose Costa above this place now. Not only are the staff welcoming and happy to serve you at the above places, but the coffee and ambience are...
Read moreArrived to order coffee, one staff member with AirPod in chatting to who I assume were his friends, after his friends pointed out I was waiting he just glanced and continued his conversation for another 4/5mins, eventually come to serve me when another customer who I assume was a regular or friend came in and ordered shortly after me.
Despite my order being on the pass for a good 2/3 mins they decided to prioritise the customer or friend that came in and ordered a little while after me. They then proceeded to get my order wrong.
When the coffee eventually came it was really good but the whole process was unprofessional and extremely laboured for what it was actually worth, I was on a 30minute break and what should’ve been a 2/3min exchange ended up taking longer than 10mins and was filled with unprofessionalism from listening to music and socialising with friends to prioritising friends over other customers.
Coffee is brilliant and fairly priced but staff a little...
Read moreThe Costa across the road was completely packed, so thought I'd give this new place a try. I have to say it looks lovely inside, plus there's sanitizer at the entrance and the staff was all wearing masks. The prices are pretty standard for a coffee shop & they ask you what type of coffee bean you want. Maybe it was a poor choice on my part, but I thought I'd try the caramel latte. Might as well just pour sugar down my throat, couldn't even taste the coffee in it 🤢 It was awful. Also bought a couple of chocolate muffins for my partner and I because they looked amazing. Really tasty, but they're just too sickly to have all in one go, so better share one if you can. All in all, I would give it another go, but I will play safe next time and stick to a standard latte...
