I visited Sides in the Arndale Centre on Saturday, 2nd of December, but was told that they had run out of burgers for the day unfortunately. This wasn’t even that late in the day - it was early evening, around 6.00pm.
I then returned to the restaurant on Saturday, 9th of December at around 6.00pm and ordered two burgers and six tenders.
However, after ordering, I was then told that there was a problem with the flour, and they couldn’t serve/make burgers unfortunately.
Furthermore, I was then told that they didn’t have the six tenders which were ordered either.
I then received a refund of £8.49 for the six tenders ordered earlier.
To try and make up for the lack of burgers and tenders, the restaurant gave some waffle fries.
The actual food itself is very average. It’s certainly not value for money at all whatsoever.
Any basic food from any burger place would be just as good, if not better than the food from Sides, and it would certainly be much more value for money.
Really, really disappointing and awful service, especially because the restaurant had to close at around 6.30pm - because they couldn’t serve any more customers due to running out of food/flour.
This was 6.30pm on a Saturday night - it beggars belief to close at that time during one of the busiest days of the week - all because they didn’t have the ingredients/food left to serve customers.
Moreover, the seating area the restaurant has is far too small for its customers. There isn’t enough seating room/area. I had to stand around and wait after the food had been ordered - to actually find a seat to sit on.
I hate leaving poor reviews, I really do, especially as I’m sure that a lot of the staff at the restaurant work hard. The staff deserve much better though than having to serve customers with basic food options on the menu running out.
Truly awful experience. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to visit Sides in the Arndale Centre - you’ll either be deeply disappointed at not being able to get the food you ordered on the menu, or if you are lucky enough to get the food you want - you’ll be severely disappointed at the extremely average...

It had such an odd flavour and also tasted slightly burnt, just odd tbh. Waffle fries are fine, not amazing, not bad, just average. Ranch never had till now, it was again fine, kinda nice but defo not a sauce I'd rush back to get like some sauces I've had at other places. Asked my bf and he also agreed for 2 star, same as me. It's unfortunate because I thought it would be decent, disappointed it didn't even reach that at minimum. Won't be going back unfortunately :( It's very basic and for basic, you can find much tastier and affordable. Nice packaging and theme though. To improve: Change Nashville recipe completely, not spicy and not a tasty flavour. (I went for medium) Shouldn't even been classed as mild. I'll still watch their vids, but food deffo not worth supporting. Oh asked bf about the service as I didn't deal with them, he said it was shocking, waited 5 mins with no que before someone even responded to him waiting. No one going around cleaning so everyone sitting down kept using dirty tables with sauce spilt on them and chicken batter on them. I did think my burger looked dark and after seeing other images of the Nashville burger, they defo served me a burnt burger, explains the awful taste, wish I asked for a refund but tbh hard to tell why it tastes bad when never had before and they shouldn't ever serve someone something if it's not up to the quality and has been burnt. Waited about 15 mins for food, with little space for everyone waiting (I appreciate it's quite busy first weekend opening so I was happy to wait). Asked for 2 drinks to go, was given 2 empty plastic cups with no lid, which I should fill up at the fountain. Asked lady in blue if they could give me a can instead, as I was taking the food away (one of the available options as per staff members). The staff member said they couldn't give me the can because it was reserved for delivery only. I just asked if there was delivery available to a previous staff member who said there wasn't yet, however the lady still refused to give me the can as requested. I then asked if there was a lid I could use or a bag? A small bag where I could keep the beverages stable during my way home.she explained the only lid they could provide was the milkshake one with a massive hole on the top. There was no small bag and there was no cup holder which left me with no options to transport two cups of pepsi without spilling all over my food. I then started asking further questions about how I should transport them given no options of transport were provided and the lady turned her back.
