So after reading many positive reviews, we decided to visit the restaurant with high hopes of brilliant customer service and delicious food. We'll the food I cannot fault - except the lamb cubes which were a bit on the chewy side..but overall I loved the food.
My issue is with despicable behaviour of the waiters. Once we arrived it was busy which I understand with it being New Years day but honestly the restaurant was freezing cold..we got told there are tables downstairs which I was fine with as it was quiet and not too crowded. However my god it was like sitting in a freezer room! We were told there was no heating as it didn't work. There was no service at all pretty much just left to fend for ourselves with one menu which happened to coincidentally be at the table already (there were 3 of us). I then proceeded to go upstairs to place my order and advised I wanted chilli sauce, salads etc which they said we would receive anyway. The guy at the till said 30 minutes for food which I was okay with as it was so busy but asked if we could atleast have the mezze first.. said yes..15 minutes later main dishes get dropped at the table with no cutlery (ended up getting some from a different table to avoid our food getting cold!) , no sauces, no mezze or my chips. My mezze came after another 10 minutes and I asked if they could give us some chilli sauce as requested they said okay 15 minutes had passed I hadn't received the sauces or part of my order...I then saw a waiter walk past my table so I called out to him and he deliberately after looking at me decided to just walk passed and ignore as he mumbled something...after this point I was fuming so walked upstairs to tell the manager about not receiving my full order but ended up speaking to one of the other waiters instead and the excuse was sorry we are busy!! Being busy is not a justification of poor service and poor attitude towards your customers!! It's disappointing that there is potential for a good experience but all is ruined by such poor service...if youre busy hire more staff, don't ruin somebody's experience! Looking at the other reviews it seems like the lunch service has better staff and service than the evening..maybe worth considering for the...
Read moreI arrived on 13/8 and the place was packed. The lady that run the front of house offered me a table downstairs. The downstairs area was dark . So I decided to go for a walk and come back in an hour.
I was offered a big table, and I asked the person in charge if she was sure to which she responded yes.
The food came fast was nice though over salted. The major issue was towards the end of my meal. A big group of new guests arrived and kept staring towards my direction. The lady in charge also kept pointing to my direction. I am half way through my lamb chops.
One of the men waiting for the table sits on my table without asking. The person in charge of the front of house says nothing. I tell politely to the ignorant being on my table that he is being ignorant and he remains ignorant. I ask the lady in charge for coffee. We don't do coffe says she and walks away. No dessert offered and no thanks.
So I leave with the last bit of my lamb chops still in my mouth.
I pay at the till, and the usual courtesy of asking if things were ok has been replaced by "16 pounds". And that's it. Not even a good bye.
As a food writer I dine in many international restaurants. I don't expect service with a smile. At the same time never have I seen such disrespectful behaviour from other guests and what is worse the owners of the house did nothing about it instead they joined in to make me feel unwelcome. I was literally pushed out so that the restaurant could make money from a big table.
How about you tell people that the table is for 1 hour - I spent less than an hour in the place. At least this way the guest has a choice. I am ok with that. Or ask me if I mind sharing my table, to I would have gladly said yes.
It seems that Slemani's owners are happy with the amount of customers they have.
One less for you from today and many more will...
Read moreThis is the worst restraint I been too, the staff especially the man on the till was very rude, I ordered two chicken sharmas on a plate two separate nans(you don't get a nan with plate of sharmas) , a chicken sharma wrap, a pizza, a portion (2), lamb kebab ( supposed to have been served with a fresh nan). When waitress arrived with two sharmas, wrap, and pizza then nans were missing, on top of that lamb kebab was not ready, she bought the two nans after 5 mins (whilst food is getting cold... And said your lamb kebab was not ready (so I couldn't start the meal together with my family and did complain at this point) when the lamb kebab arrived I shared 1 piece with my wife and noticed that their was only a quarter of nan piece on the plate, I notified the waitress who replied it's nothing to do with me, so I took the plate to the man on the till (the other guy chef or someone) said why have you come to the till you should tell the waitress , I replied the waitress told me to come here anyway I told them why have you served me with an quater of nan (realising at that time it was an used nan) the man at the till with a smirk on his face said sorry, I'll send you another nan, this annoyed me even more, me and my family didn't finish all our separated used meal, but we're fully charged, even though I informed them of the full scenario, all I got was a lowsy sorry with a smirk. The food overall was poor non tastey (wrap was soggy hardly any chicken mainly salad) and service was worst I ever came across.. A very negative experience, felt like puking up...
