*Below is my previous review but since then I've visited and the food took forever to arrive, once it finally arrived it was awful, unseasoned, raw chicken!
I returned the plate after my third bite and explained that the chicken was still raw, the waiter took the plate away and said he would get me another, 15 minutes had passed but nothing came out, it wasn't busy as we went late in the evening so there was no reason for the delay, I call the waiter and told him to leave the food I didn't want it. 5 minutes later "Zara" walked out with a piece of chicken and my previously returned sides of chips and veg! I repeated I didn't want the food,I'd waited so long I'd lost my appetite and my children had already nearly finished eating. Towards the end of the meal.my sons chicken was also raw and I shown this to Zara when she tried to give me that second round of chicken. She took the chicken away and when it came to pay the bill she had charged me for the food I never had. I challenged this and she responded that we offered you another, you should have taken it!Then went on to tell me that I had some of the sides! I went on to explain how they can't charge me for their uncooked food bt she was adamant that this is how they run their business! I'm absolutely flabbergasted! It's not the first time we've been there so the least she could have done is take off that platter!she offered me 10% off, then to take off 1 of the drinks. As this was becoming tedious I agreed, she went on to charge me £54 (and some pence) when in actuality it should have been £51 and some pence. It wasn't even about the money, its about the principal. She then gave me the extra she charged in cash which I gave to the waiter and thanked him for his trouble. Zara is clearly not fit for the job, management isn't about being argumentative with customers it's about rectifying and ensuring that customers are satisfied and return with their business to the establishment- especially when you're at fault for serving the raw chicken! The next day my son and I had an upset stomach which proves that the chicken they served was raw! I will be taking this further through the food standards and/or trading standards agencies so they cannot do this to other paying customers.
*Mediocre, fair price, nice setup and if you avoid the busy period it's a nice quiet place to dine with friends or family. Staff are a bit sluggish, having to remind them for things we had asked for when we placed the order which is a shame because the venue and food is good just the staff let...
Read moreWent in with my family and it was practically empty. Gave our order and asked for drinks to be given first. After some time passed about 4 tables filled up and they seemed to all get their food and we were still waiting. At this point we still didn’t have drinks either. The staff had completely forgotten about us and didn’t even think to come over to tell us they made a mistake and somehow lost our order. Instead they were all just staring at us and murmuring amongst themselves Then went on to calling one of the waiters who said he’ll get the drinks but bought all the wrong ones across so I told him this is incorrect. He went back and got the correct drinks and I asked how long will the food be and as I was speaking he walked away. Very very rude behaviour To top it off no one came over to acknowledge us so I went to speak to the so called manager on shift. She didn’t even care and just said she only found out about the matter a minute ago. The place was less than half full so she wasn’t that busy that she couldn’t come over to us and acknowledge what had happened and to apologise. She didn’t seem to care at all and just continued to say our order was top priority. I mean at this point everyone else in the restaurant had their food anyway so ofcourse we were top priority. Decided to leave as I would rather give my hard earned money elsewhere to a restaurant that actually cares about the customers and providing a customer service. Me and my family will never be going...
Read moreCould not fault anything about our experience at Toro's Steakhouse. We'd heard good things about this place, both from friends and on social media. We're happy to say it met or even exceeded our expectations.
We ordered the Shredded Beef Tacos and the Buffalo Hot Wings for starters and a T-Bone Steak for our mains.
The starters were delicious. The shredded beef in the tacos was perfectly tender, the spices and herbs were flavourful and aromatic, and the tortilla wrap was soft and delicious. None of that chewy nonsense.
The buffalo wings lived up to their name, both in size and in flavour. Dipped in a delicious hot sauce, combined with the fresh, tender meat made for a winning combination.
And finally, the T-Bone Steak was massive. If you're ordering starters, a single serving of this is more than enough for a party of 2. I always have steak medium and it was perfect. It was easy to cut and the seasoning was on point. Accompanying the steak was some creamy mash, steak chips and a garlic mushroom sauce. My wife and I agree that this is the best steak we've had thus far.
The pina colada and strawberry daiquiri were lovely too. Staff was attentive and our food arrived in a very timely manner. The seating area is great and the decor is very classy. We spent just over £60 on everything, which was very reasonable for the quality and...
