Subway — Restaurant in Mansfield

After reading some of the reviews I’m pretty shocked because I’ve never had a bad experience in the Mansfield Woodhouse Subway. I go every Friday afternoon for tea, spend upwards of £30 and it’s the subway I always go back to.

The staff are friendly, Emily has always greeted me with a warm smile, polite and is clearly very efficient at her job remembering most of my order despite only going one per week. Georgio although not working all the Fridays is just as pleasant, and both always appear to do their best.

Having worked in the industry in the past, customers can be difficult. The Just Eat drivers are often rude and expect to collect as soon as they walk in regardless of who is stood in line. I still see customers walking to the wrong side of the queue and wondering why they aren’t getting served. It’s not easy and with orders piling up it can be stressful.

If I were the business owner I’d be very proud to have a team that includes the likes of Emily and Georgio. The only development advice I’d give is to be a little firmer with customers if they are causing disruption or not following Subway etiquette. This is normal , and as long as it’s done politely they should have no issue. It can be hard especially for students to have this confidence but you will need it no matter what career you choose to follow in life as people will always be people.

I rarely have a subway and now I remember why. Disaster from when I stepped up to the counter, I was stood a good 30 seconds while the 2 assistants chatted about weather one of them was fit enough for work as she had got a cold. I would say not, but apparently serving sandwiches all day while sniffling is OK. After finally be asked what I was wanting I requested a breakfast sub with no poached eggs and a coffee. With that the assistant disappeared for a while came back and started my sandwich. It was clear to see that the assistant should have been sent home for being unwell as she was telling me about how she had been over the previous few days. Paid for my sub thanked the lady and wondered back to where I was working only to discover that poached eggs had been included. With that and how I'll the assistant looked I binned the sub. I don't anticipate I'll be returning...

We are doing a pescetarian diet at the moment. Decided to have a tuna melt. I had to tell the sever there were lumps of chicken in the tuna mix(the tub, well every one on the counter, was congealed) . Rather than starting again he just picked it out and did it with a very heavy sigh(I didn't realise the sandwich was that heavy). My Son wanted the meatball. There was only one left in the tub. There were none left but I'm still confused why they had one very solitary one on display(maybe look at the prize you could have won).
