This is an excellent little tea room. Great selection of food but not an intimidating menu. Lots of choice from cooked breakfasts to afternoon tea and all situated in the converted stables of an old country house. My partner and I had an afternoon tea and we enjoyed it very much. I do have 2 reccomendations, however. The first to the owners. This would be to swap out the current fruit salad in the afternoon tea for some 'fresh' chopped fruits with a small pot of cream. Yes, the cost would be greater but this would add polish and make the afternoon tea all the more decadent. The second is directly to potential customer. BOOK IN ADVANCE. This place is an absolute gem in the surrounding area and can get too busy to accept walk in customers at certain times. The reason is obvious...... The food, the service, the quality and location are close to perfect. Will definitely be visiting again.

Bit of a hidden gem this one. Located at the far end of the Carr Bank car park in Mansfield, unless you knew it was there, you'd probably never even know! It has dedicated parking spaces along the wall nearest to the building, which is always nice as it saves having to search for somewhere to park. There is an outside eating area that is covered, and of course you have Carr Bank park on the doorstep if you fancy a brief walk before or after your cake!! Pricing is what you'd expect and the food is good quality. The interior is nicely done, and the staff are very pleasant. Certainly worth visiting.

Visited The Teahouse over the weekend and was thoroughly disappointed! I had been prior and always had a pleasant enough experience (apart from one time when the manager had told my stepdaughter to stop messing with the sugar on the table, though I obviously didn't see that as such an issue)

On this occasion, I had pre-booked for afternoon tea and I was really looking forward to it as it was a treat on the day of my baby shower. From the beginning the tables weren't set up for the correct amount I had booked for. It was then rearranged and my mum ended up having to sit further away from us all which made me feel bad as it made me feel as though she was a bit secluded.

Once the afternoon tea came out, albeit a few minutes or so, my friend had noticed that there was mould on one of the cream cheese sandwiches. This was disputed by the manager with no apology, just an assurance that it wasnt mould, when in fact most of us had looked at the sandwich before mentioning it to the manager, and we also have worked in the food industry ourselves!

This instantly put me off as I had already eaten one of these sandwiches, which I didn't even think to look at, but had thought prior to my friend noticing, that it didn't taste right. It also worried me due to being pregnant!

Upon then looking at the other sandwiches they were dry and were certainly not "freshly made this morning" as the manager kept insisting.

I am not one for confrontation, or for complaining, though had my friend not mentioned anything regarding any discount, we would not have received one. We didn't even receive an apology for that matter. I paid a £50 deposit for this afternoon tea, and it was £15.95 per person. I felt thoroughly embarrassed taking my friends there after this incident and I will not be returning!

I would also like to mention that my stepdaughter actually threw up later on that day. Which also made me feel very guilty. I wish I'd have taken things further regarding the incident as I cannot describe my disappointment and...

The food is good, the service is terrible!! We arrived at 14.05, a menu was brought out to us at 14.10 the waitress finally came out at 14.35 (after prompting) to take our order, I ordered the all day breakfast and a panini only to be told “the kitchen is shut as it closes at 14.30”, we explained we’d been there since 14.05, the staff refused to serve us hot food and we were told we could have a cake! Unbelievably the three staff then decided to argue with us and the cook said she wasn’t responsible as “she was in the kitchen”, I explained it’s the fault of waitresses who failed to take our order, to which the cook again said “I was in the kitchen” she really didn’t understand that the waitresses were not doing their job….needless to say we will never return or recommend to anyone!! (unless you enjoy being ignored by the totally inept staff), obviously business must be good to be able to treat and lose customers like this, well done 👏👏👏 I look forward to an explanation regarding the whole sorry episode and wonder if they will actually accept responsibility for what can only be described as totally...

Can't tell how food and drinks were... It's a cozy place but... Me and the family waited for a table to get cleaned among all other tables that needed that so we can order. Someone went to clean the tables that no one was waiting for and our table was still loaded (we just moved everything on another table).. We went to order and been told to wait at the table as someone will come serve us... then other people arrived after a while and they been served before us.. we got ourselves out looking for another place to get served. Another table was waiting same as us and they left too as it seems that last to come are served first😅we even missed to order for breakfast and had to be happy with a lunch instead🤷🏼‍♀️ I have years of experience as a waiter and my advice for this place: First in is first served and also if you see people waiting at a dirty table please clean that first to serve them. The other dirty tables no one is waiting for can be cleaned afterwards 😊 Have a good day🙏 P.S.: Please take this feedback as...
