The Crab & Beacon — Restaurant in Mid Sussex

Delivery was early which was fab, but sadly thats where the positives end. Pizza and garlic bread were very disappointing and not worth paying for, with so many pizza options in EG they should really stop offering this.

Garlic bread (crunchy baguette with cheddar cut in 4) was the sort of thing to come from a kids soft play centre all day cafe ..and the Pizza was fairly chewy and pretty grim, 2am kebab shop style pizza..not something I think anyone would choose to pay for. Potentially my bad for not going with a trusted pizza option in town but this was not at all what I was expecting.. should have just put the oven on and made a frozen...

A great location in East Grinstead. A good amount of seating with numerous TV's showing sport. Some pool tables here too. Both the female staff were friendly and helpful choosing food and seating area. The food arrived in good time, was hot, tasted good, presented well and excellent quality. With so many restaurants in the area, you certainly can't go wrong here. It's perfectly located with the cinema only two floors above it too. Ideal for a bite to eat before or after a cinema showing. I'm in East Grinstead every week and will definitely call here again....

On the plus side, the service was good, and my partner's slider mini-burger meal was OK - though she had to ask before getting the chips that went with it. The bad part was that my calamari & whitebait was so greasy I sent it back. They also refused to honour my Tastecard offer, though as it turned out we wouldn't have benefitted from a 2-for-1 deal, as we ended up sharing 1 meal! I can see the appeal for some, but I won't be...
