Bluebells Cafe — Restaurant in Mid Sussex

Bit of a mixed review... There were plus and minus points. Plus: I came here for breakfast on a Sunday with my 3yr old and they were VERY sweet and accommodating in terms of food and drink for her and general friendliness and also not bothered about spills. Plus a few toys around to keep her busy. Coffee was nice but not as good as it used to be. The place has nice art on the walls, friendly atmosphere, clean in terms of the space, cutlery etc. Minus: my breakfast was a bit sad. I ordered pancakes with maple syrup. The pancakes were small and didn't seem freshly made. A little rubbery and re-heated. The "maple syrup" was not that, it was that cheaper thick syrup with maple flavouring. They also don't do vegetarian sausages or any vegan options. I came here under previous ownership and the pancakes were massive, freshly made and amazing with real maple syrup and the coffee was great. Also felt if that was the breakfast I got the price should have been a little less to reflect what you get.

Overall, nice friendly place but for my menu choices not...

It's a nice cafe, with food that tasted great, I ordered a breakfast type with an extra addition, it was busy but he food arrived quite quickly time, but a couple of items were not quite as warm as I would like it personally but not a deal breaker. I put it as that could just be down to how busy they were at the time, but the flavours were all there and it was filling and tastey for the price.

Service was good too, especially with it being full they did a great job and were happy to add the extra food. The atmosphere, visually and aesthetically it's lovely place, the seating was very comfortable, the sound carries in there pretty well and very clearly, so it can feel a bit lively during busy times, but I will definitely be coming back again!

We went on the Bluebell railway as a Father’s day treat for my husband. We wanted to get a lunch after the journey. The Bluebell Caffe caught our eye on Google as it wasn’t too far from the station. And the food was absolutely amazing 🤩 and the price was very reasonable!! It was delivered quickly, the atmosphere was cheerful and the place was nice and it was a real pleasure to eat there. We made it back to the station for our last train without stress. What else do I have to say. We had a nice time,...
