We went to @fireawaymk for dinner on 4th November 2020 and it was absolutely incredible! To start with, we were welcomed at the door by a friendly member of staff and shown to a table straight away! We were given menus and there was so much to choose from!
We started off with drinks, getting a can of coke and a custard cream milkshake which was made with real Italian ice cream and tasted amazing, and then moved on to starters where we got cheesy garlic bread and chill honey chicken wings (they had other flavours too) to share! Not only did the food look incredible but it definitely tasted incredible too! The cheesy garlic bread was very big, the same size as the pizza’s (12”) and perfect to share, and the chicken wings were coated in breadcrumbs and drizzled with a honey dressing with a sprinkle of chilli flakes, although they definitely had a bit of a kick to them.
Next, we each ordered one of the 9 signature pizzas and both went for the ‘Meat Head’ which comes with a tomato base, mozzarella cheese and topped with chicken, ham and pepperoni which is a fantastic pizza for anyone who likes a lot of meat on their pizza, although there were a variety of other signature pizza’s to choose from, including vegetarian options, or alternatively, you can build your own pizza with a huge choice of 25 toppings which you can choose as many as you like for free! You can also get a salad if you would rather instead of a pizza for a healthier option and they even have vegan and gluten-free options!
They cook the pizza in a 500°c rotating pizza oven which cooks it in only 180 seconds and the stone fire taste really comes through on the pizza which is a nice change from an oven cooked pizza! They also make all the pizza’s fresh in the restaurant and you can watch them make the pizza which is really cool!
We finished off with a fruit and Nutella dessert pizza and chocolate cannoli (you can get 4 different flavours of cannoli) which were both delicious. The fruit and Nutella pizza was again the same size as the normal pizza and had a mix of sliced strawberries and banana’s drizzled in Nutella on a warm pizza base which was a perfect combination. The cannoli’s were filled with chocolate and sprinkled in nuts and the pastry was golden and crunchy.
The prices were all very reasonable for what you get and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The service was quick and efficient and we didn’t have to wait long for anything and our waitress was wonderful.
Although we are now in lockdown, Fireaway still have takeaway and delivery options so you can order from them and treat yourself in lockdown until they can open the restaurant back up again! Overall, we had a fantastic meal out with amazing food and we can’t wait to...
Read moreWORST SERVICE BY AN INCOMPETENT MANAGER!!! We ordered through Uber Eats and ordered 2x meathead pizza's on the buy one get one free offer and a bottle of red wine, totalling £45 (inc delivery). Unfortunately only 2 pizza's turned up instead of the expected 4 so I called the restaurant, quite frustrated as it was later than expected and knowing we would have to wait another hour for the remaining pizza's to arrive... I asked for the manager and spoke to a lady called Wanida (amazingly the person that responds to these reviews, enjoy this one!) I gave her the details and she said she couldn't find the ticket and would call me back, quite rude and abrupt but I didn't mind, she was probably busy. She called me back to say she has the ticket and can see we ordered 2x meathead pizzas under buy one get one free but it was only processed as 2 not 4.... I don't know what she means as I paid £45 for 2x buy one get one free pizzas and a bottle of wine. I had to explain that when you buy 2 buy one get one free pizza's that means there should be 4 pizza's delivered... Still she didn't get it so I explained her menu to her... A standard single pizza is £12 and BOGOF pizza is £15, so £15 x 2 is £30 + £13 for the wine and £2 for delivery equals £45, the amount spent. She said it only came through as 2 so we only gave you 2, but I can see that it was buy one get one free but I cannot give you the offer as it only came through as 2.... Fed up at this point, I asked her to please send the 2 missing pizza and she said no I will not, I see 2 so I give 2, if you have an issue raise a complaint. I was truly shocked and appalled at the level of service and her intellect at this point. Not only am I spoken to like a piece of s* but I am not getting the products I paid for and no resolution to the issue. No empathy, no reasoning with her, the worst service I have had for YEARS. Not the worst pizza when it isn't late or cold but easily the worst service.... Save yourself the aggravation and order...
Read moreI've just had the worst standard of service I've encountered in a restaurant. Totally inexcusable.
Two weeks ago, my wife and I booked a table for a Saturday (27th) for 12.30. A small family group, all adult, celebrating a birthday.
We arrived on time and were the only guests. After a few minutes, the man had just begun to take our order when he returned to the counter to answer the phone. He was on the phone for more than 10 minutes before then taking our order of pizzas and drinks.
The only other employee we saw in the desk area was a young guy making pizzas. The desk man left the building clearly with a delivery to be made. While the desk man was out, the phone kept ringing and the pizza man kept answering, making more pizzas that various people came to collect.
WE HAD TO WAIT A FURTHER 40 MINUTES FOR OUR PIZZA! (During this time we saw 3 people collecting orders.) So we got our pizzas 55 minutes after walking in. By this time the desk man had returned. We had to wolf down our pizzas. Only 3 of us finished before we had to get to our booking at Simply Race.
In paying, we complained of the 55 minute wait and the desk man apologised. But the excessive wait was entirely avoidable if our order had just been processed in order. We were constantly being overtaken by telephone orders coming in. For that I consider the 2 staff either incompetent or blatantly...
