I come here with my family every year around christmas as long as I remember, usually around 15 of us in total, and sometimes throughout the year if ever in Milton Keynes. I have never had a problem, and the food and staff have always been excellent. On my visit today, I had an issue with something with every meal. A fresh load of pizza was very chewy, as was the naan. The popcorn and nachos were stale, and a lot of the food was cold or simply didn’t taste right to me. After trying a bit of everything, I went to the manager to let him know that I wasn’t happy, to which he told me that all the food is fresh so nothing can be wrong with it. I went around to attempt to show him what I was saying, to which he was raising his voice at me the whole way around. I am the type of person who can speak up for someone else, but struggles with confrontation when it is on my own behalf, so I was quite flustered being spoken to like this in a busy restaurant as a young woman by a grown man. He even picked up a nacho, ate it, and whilst chewing told me that it was fine (also spitting a few crumbs on me whilst doing so). When I mentioned that I was a vegetarian, so didn’t try a few of the dishes, he told me that I can’t say the food is bad if I didn’t eat it, and that I should have told someone that I was a vegetarian so that I could have my own food made. As mentioned, I have come here many times over the last few years, and have never been told this. I have also never previously had issues with my options as a vegetarian, so wouldn’t have had the need to anyway.
This trip was for my anniversary with my partner, and we had requested a quieter table if possible. We were put on a table next to a huge family with little kids running around which wasn’t particularly quiet. We were only asked if we wanted drinks once on our second plate of food (or just ‘finishing’ our first, I’m not too sure) and was also told that they don’t have tea spoons. Further, we weren’t asked if we have any allergies upon entering (which I thought was required, but perhaps not?) or dietary requirements, or that we can request a specific meal to be cooked for us, which is why I was confused when the manager told me I should have said something earlier about having a dish made.
What to take from this is that the manager is a very rude and disrespectful man, who refuses to listen to anything remotely negative or constructive. He told me that I only brought up the issue when I had finished eating so I could get the meal for free (I would have been happy to continue eating, as I had minimal food due to the recurring problems, but chose not to after the way he treated me) and overall made me feel really uncomfortable being in there after going here so often. I could have gotten over the food, as service is usually top tier, and come again this christmas as usual, but I will not be...
Read moreThis whole ordeal happened within 35 minutes. Out for my fiancés birthday meal, We sat down and ordered our drinks, which took a while to come out, we then went up to get our food and found that there was very limited options, not a wide variety of options, we had one plate each.
my plate consisted off 3 ribs and 2 duck pancakes due to lack of options and my fiancé had about 6 items on his and both of our foods were either burnt, chewy, watery and luke warm most definitely not fresh. We didn’t even finish our plates as the food made us feel sick, we decided we were not going to eat anymore.
We explained politely how we weren’t satisfied with the food and were not happy to pay £21.99 EACH for food we barely touched and was quite frankly un edible but were happy to pay for our drinks and a little extra for part of what we had eaten even though we didn’t feel it was worth that. The manager came back at us and said how we should of asked them to refresh the stations to which I explained A - that’s not my job and B - we didn’t know the food wasn’t going to taste good until we tried it to which we were then put off to try further. He then offered us £8 off our £50+ meal and we said no as we refuse to pay for a buffet that we didn’t actually use properly and we were happy to pay for our drinks. The manager then became very rude and aggressive towards us, threatening that we cannot leave unless we pay. I called my dad for advice and at this point the manager said he would take one plate off. Still VERY unhappy with that offer my fiance paid for one plate and our drinks ( one beer and one cocktail ) which still equated to £40 just so we could leave without anymore confrontation, once we paid, the manager proceeded to tell us we weren’t ‘ invited here anymore ‘ even though we will NEVER set foot in that food poisoning trap ever again and kept his aggressive attitude towards us as we left.
Absolute disgrace of a place, disgrace of service and would STRONGLY advise anyone not to eat or waste their money here. The bad reviews on this place speak the truth and I wish I took their advice.
Place should be shut down for how awful their staff and food actually were....

As an Asian, having had eaten their “so-called” Chinese dishes, I am extremely disappointed to see Chinese cuisine being labelled on the board . It is offensive for us Chinese since we do not condone to this being called a selection of Chinese cuisine.
The level of food safety is atrocious.. Attached below will be images of the food provided in buffet menu. The sushi tasted stale probably due to frozen month long fish being used. The tomatoes are not ripe and are disdaining yellow in colour. I could list down so much more about the horrendous display of food but one of the worst things would be the mouldy marshmallow turning green- displayed in the close proximity of hopefully edible food (touching the dishes). The mango cake (can you even call it cake?!) looked alright at first glance, but one bite into it, tasted like plastic. The texture was solid and scruffy to the mouth and was a determining factor for us to walk out of the “restaurant” and go have Chinese just across the street.
In addition to all these, of around 25 dishes(without dessert), 14 were left not refilled. What was written as Thai squid curry had no trace of squid. What was written as a selection of vegetables had only broken pieces of carrots and staling cauliflower with discoloured peas. The service was revolting as well as our dishes are not being taken away by the waiters / waitresses, It was really a disappointing experience since we went into the restaurant named “MK BUFFET VILLAGE” with high expectations in terms of the name representing the city it was in. I would boldly say that it does not deserve to put the name “MK” . All of this outrageous experience cost us £37.98 which was the worst money spent of our...
