âââââ â âGreek Souvlaki? More like Greek So-not-lakiâ
Ah yes, the ancient Greek tragedy of taramasalata denied. Imagine my joy, my anticipation, my sheer Homeric odyssey of driving 57 milesâthatâs right, a whole hour of my life (each way!)âfor a taste of that creamy, pink, fishy delight. And what did I find upon arrival? A solemn-faced waiter informing me that they âcouldnât be botheredâ to make taramasalata today.
Excuse me?
Did Greece run out of fish roe? Did Poseidon himself rise from the sea and declare, âNo more tarama for theeâ? Because unless thereâs a national taramasalata shortage that I somehow missed, I simply cannot comprehend the audacity.
What kind of self-respecting Greek establishment turns away a devoted tarama pilgrim like this? Whatâs next? A pizza place that âjust doesnât feel like making dough todayâ? A steakhouse where the chef declares, âYou know what? Cows are off the menuâ?
No, lads. Just no. I came for the full Greek experience, and what I got was the culinary equivalent of Zorba the Greek giving up halfway through his dance and sitting down for a cup of tea instead.

I have eaten here before and always opt for the English breakfast as itâs the best halal option Iâve had in MK. Last time I came I was told that breakfast options stopped at 3pm so today I went at 2:15pm expecting there to still be breakfast. The man behind the counter who usually makes the food said breakfast had finished and they ended at 2 today. I asked if as an exception he could make the breakfast just for us as weâd come all the way just for that but he said no. It didnât make sense because the restaurant was empty and surely our order was better than nothing? Our order was surely some sort of business?
I would have expected it to be clearer in the menu when breakfast ends and for there to be a set time rather than a variable one OR even better all day breakfast as it...

The food smelled amazing, and after passing this place twice, we decided to give it a try. Service was good, and we sat down to eat our well presented gyros. The bread and chips were amazing. It was slightly seasoned and was so delicious. I tried mayo with Greek mustard and definitely ticked the box as it was more French than English tasting, so complimented the oregano tasting chips. Unfortunately, the meat really let this dish down. The chicken was very fatty and questionable in taste. My wife even questioned me, asking if this was chicken or pork. Who knows.... It's a shame as everything else was spot on, but the gyros were not as good as we normally get. Unfortunately, as for the rest of the menu looking round, the kebabs in skewers...
