Kokoro — Restaurant in Milton Keynes

We ordered the ‘All Salmon Love Set’, had purchased this previously at other Kokoro locations. The food firstly had an odd odour to it, the small bits of only salmon had an usual taste to it along with the same odour. The pieces of around 4 including salmon and rice had the same unusual taste to all of them. The sushi itself was okay and came with extra pieces of caviar although the rice felt quite unpleasantly rubbery and sticky and the salmon was chewy on a few pieces of salmon. Along with that the green mochi had a very unpleasant odour to it as if it was old. Overall the food was okay but tasted old and seemed as if it had been kept there since morning and we bought it in the afternoon, either caused by the warm weather, which shouldn’t realistically affect the food given it’s kept in a fridge-like selection, or it was lower quality as this would never be an issue with the Kokoro location we most frequently visit and this was an unpleasant surprise...

I must say, my partner gives me that look when we're together and asks what's for dinner and I respond with "it begins with K and ends in O".

The food is so, so good. There's been only a couple of times where the chicken katsu or the sweet & sour has been sat out just a tad too long, however it hasn't pushed me away from coming back, it's trying to get there at the better time, I guess.

HOWEVER.... Tonight (30-09-23) I was actually disappointed! It appears that they've increased the price of the food, not by much, but also reduced the size of the cartons which was the actual kicker, and by George it hurt bad!!! It's like what Cadbury's have done, increase price and reduce consumer goodness...

The powers above have probably made this decision, so no blame on the guys in the outlet, however it would be good if this could be rectified back to how it...

If it was possible I'd rate this place a minus. So my colleagues rant and rave about this place all the time so I decided to give it a try my my my was that the BIGGEST MISTAKE. So I went and bought some rice with sweet and sour chicken.... Very basic nothing too fancy....I should have known by the poor presentation and mess the staff we're making with the food to ABORT MISSION. As I was eating it I started looking at the chicken oh there we go some of it is RAAAAAAAW. Oh I was livid. I called them on the phone immediately and to be fair the staff was polite and very apologetic. He asked me to come back to the store for a refund or exchange.
