Alright, let’s talk about Wagamama in the Midsummer shopping mall, Milton Keynes. Now, normally when you think of a restaurant in a shopping mall, you brace yourself for screaming kids and the aroma of pretzels mixing with cheap cologne from a nearby department store. But Wagamama? Stunning. It’s like stepping into an entirely different world where all the chaos outside fades, and you’re left with a bowl of food so good it makes you forget you’re sat next to a Boots. First off, the food. It’s tasty. Properly tasty. Whether you’re going for the classic ramen, the katsu curry, or something adventurous like the firecracker chicken (which is exactly as hot as it sounds, by the way), it’s all cooked to perfection. Fresh, flavorful, and it comes out fast. It's the kind of place where you don't have to wait around, wondering if they’ve forgotten about you. Now, the service. Brilliant. The staff are friendly, helpful, and they actually seem like they enjoy being there. None of that robotic, “Here’s your food, now leave me alone” attitude. They check on you just the right amount, and they’re more than happy to explain the menu if you’re staring blankly at it like you don’t know the difference between udon and soba. And here’s something I never thought I’d say—paying is fun. Yes, you can pay with a QR code. Scan it, pay on your phone, and you’re done. No waiting for the bill, no awkward waving at staff while they’re busy. It’s genius. The toilets? Clean. Yep, not much more to say—clean, modern, no complaints. So, Wagamama in Milton Keynes, despite being in a shopping mall, is top-notch. Great food, great service, and I’ll be their client for a long time. Just try the ramen, and you’ll see why.

I am a regular visitor, but unfortunately, I’ve decided not to choose Wagamama in the future. First of all, the prices are so high, and the portions are much smaller compared to the past. During my last visit, I ordered Yaki Udon, Katsu Curry, and Kids’ Katsu Curry. The Kids’ Katsu Curry portion contained 70% carrots, cucumber, and sweetcorn. The Yaki Udon had only two pieces of prawn and four pieces of chicken, and the Katsu Curry had two thin slices of chicken breast. I spoke to a staff member to express my concerns about the portion sizes, and I was told that the size of the Katsu portion depends on the size of the chicken breast, which could have easily included an extra slice. The staff member offered to replace my plate with a new portion of Yaki Udon, but I decided to keep it to avoid waste, so she brought me a small portion of prawns instead. The whole experience was disappointing, as I had to wait five minutes for a staff member to come to our table and another ten minutes to receive the prawns. By then, our food was cold. I hope my experience helps the business owners address these issues and improve.

Felt a bit odd how we were ushered in, sat down, told we couldn’t sit there, went to sit again just to be told not there either, and then when we finally sat down they told us we had to go back outside and wait to be let in. As soon as we got to the front door a waiter came over and said we could come in??? After we’d already sat down? So bizarre. Made me feel uncomfortable and, as this was my first time ever trying a Wagamama, I’m not sure how convinced I would be to come back. Sure, the food impressed me, but it’s a little pricey and I think I’ll choose somewhere else to celebrate an anniversary next year. We also went to specifically try the vegatsu and they let us order it without telling us they had run out. My other complaint would be that we ordered wok fried greens and it came with one piece of broccoli? Again, disappointing. Other than that, you can’t really fault the food; it’s exactly what it says on the menu but it’s not as filling as I had hoped, and the meat options outweigh the vegan options.

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding my recent experience at your MK Shopping Centre branch. My visit was profoundly disappointing and has left me not only dissatisfied with the service provided but also deeply embarrassed.

Upon entering the restaurant, my boyfriend and I encountered immediate issues with the entrance. The automatic doors were not functioning properly and were visibly dirty, forcing us to manually push them open. To our dismay, a server loudly instructed us—right in front of other patrons—to “close the doors behind you.” This public admonishment was both unnecessary and unprofessional.

Matters deteriorated further when the same server informed us that, should we wish to dine in, we must queue on the opposite side, despite the fact that there are clearly two entrances available (one from within the shopping centre and one from the outside). This directive was not only confusing but also felt dismissive, and it ultimately contributed to an overall sense of disrespect and disregard for customer experience.

I consider myself a professional restaurant reviewer with over 45,000 views on TikTok per video, and I am accustomed to providing constructive feedback. However, the rudeness, unprofessionalism, and inconsiderate attitude demonstrated by your staff were unacceptable. Additionally, I felt that my partner and I were being discriminated against, further intensifying our discomfort.

I left the store immediately, deeply embarrassed by the treatment we received, and subsequently had to seek service at a different branch in Milton Keynes at Xscape. I believe that every customer deserves to be treated with respect and courtesy, and I trust that you will address these concerns promptly.

I would appreciate an acknowledgment of this complaint and information on the steps you intend to take to ensure that such incidents do not recur. I look forward to your...

We dined here tonight, food was quite nice, even though my Ramen came earlier than our starter and my boyfriend's dish, so I had to wait because I didn't want to start eating by myself, that's one thing I dislike about wagas, but used to it.

Our waitress was really rude. The girl who initially came to our table, she had black hair, she was really sweet! Smiling, very kind to all the customers. Then we had this server called Tamsn, I made sure to remember the name. She asked "Can I take your drinks?" and I said "I think we're ready to order everything" (because we didn't want to order drinks and then wait to order food) and she condescendingly said back something like "Well drinks first because that's what I asked/said" I actually couldn't believe it. I thought I misheard her until my boyfriend whispered to me "Wow she was so rude" and then I heard her say the exact same thing to a man sat next to us. Actual shock at that. I don't know if she did this intentionally or not. And I'm not insensitive to what it's like to work in a restaurant because I worked in a chain in central London and I get how exhausting it is, but I would never speak to a customer like that. It just made me uncomfortable to ask for anything, felt so tense and awkward. She also ignored a man who was waiting for his bill for ages, felt bad for him. He was clearly waiting for it, even started waving his hand multiple times and tried to get up to say something, but got ignored.

So if you're socially anxious, don't come here, you'll feel like you're bothering the staff, go to the one at the Stadium, the staff are so...
