Haven't been in Yo Sushi for over 3 years. Popped in with my family for dinner and was so disappointed. The atmosphere was super flat, the welcome as we walked in was non existent and the service matched the flat atmosphere. I asked if my 5 year old could bring in a happyeal as he doesn't eat Sushi, to which the server said no because there was a risk of cross contamination woth the food, but there is no food going round on the belts??? What the hell was going to get contaminated??? So anyway we still decided to eat and try and give my son some Kathy chicken amd rice. You have to order everything through an app. I spent over £100 on food and was massively disappointed. Spicey seafood upon was lacking flavour, tasted like it was watered down. You have to order your wasabi and ginger ( no longer on the table for you) which you get a tiny little plate of (barely enough to for 1 person). All the plates and lids for the food were greasy and oily when they came. It was as if none of them had been cleaned since the last use. No check backs on us, no offer of up on our green tea, no one available to ask for any more ginger and wasabi. The team looked so miserable. The whole experience was just awful. Would not recommend this place at all. What a waste of money. Yo Sushi, you really have fallen in terms of service and standards. From what used to be an amazing experience and dinning atmosphere, you have literally turned yourself into a tepid canteen. Service in my local cafe is head and shoulders above what you've turned into. Maybe it was just this branch, but to be honest the poor experience I've had doesn't make me want to even try another branch to compare it to. What a shame that this is what you've turned into. Bring back food on the belt, turn up the music and get your team to even try and at least be a tiny bit...

When we arrived, asked for a booth for me and my family. The waiter 'cleaned' the table, but left wet streaks. My chair still had food on it.
There was soy sauce, but no wasabe or pickled ginger. I had to ask for wasabi. They never provided any ginger.
Order nearly £100 worth of food including service. The pumpkin katsu curry didn't arrive. When I asked where it was I was told someone had taken it and they would make another.
5 minutes later I asked again and told it would be 5 minutes (everyone else and eaten by then) so we asked for it to be put in a takeaway box.
Eventually the box arrived, without rice. The manager told us we hadn't ordered the dish with rice, but fortunately I had our order still on the browser. The dish went back to the kitchen, where the added some rice to the same box.
I asked for the pumpkin katsu curry to be comped (the manager hadn't offered to comp it, nor had they apologised at any time for what had happened) as well as for the service charge to be refunded. I was told I had to return the dish if I wanted a refund. Unbelievable! At this point I started swearing (I was pretty furious), which I apologize for.
As my partner still had to eat we left with just the refunded service charge, and an easy decision to never go to Yo! again. Sad, because it's a chain that I've been going to for over 20 years, and it's my son's favourite.
I can tolerate expensive food. I can tolerate small portions. I can tolerate using a poorly designed web ordering system. I can even tolerate a service charge being added when no service has been provided. I won't tolerate appalling service,...
Read moreI like Yo sushi, but not this branch. I’ve had bad service on multiple occasions. Upon walking in I asked for a table for 2. The waitress told me to wait a moment while she served the customers who were already seated. I mean surely she should have seated us first so we can browse the menu rather than make us stand and wait to be seated (it was only 1 customer seated). After a few minutes wait she turned around and said it will be another 30 minutes wait as they ran out of rice. This was around 6-6.30pm. Did not decide to stay and had a brilliant Nando’s instead. On another occasion while I was a student, I had put my hand up for the bill, the waiter appeared agitated and said to wait as they needed to serve another customer. Typically waiters would still listen to the customer despite on the way to do something else. He appeared frustrated that I had my unidays student discount and was generally an unwelcoming experience (this was about 5 years ago). You guys really need to train staff on customer service and deal with the frustrations they are facing at work as it does affect customer experience. I’ve not had any problems at any other Yo sushi branch - Ashford Kent, Stratford Westfield, Bluewater Kent, Bristol, have been super enjoyable to eat at, but Milton Keynes branch seems to have been disappointing too many times for me to want to eat there again. A shame really as I do love visiting...
