Akenside Traders — Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

Our family made a short stop in Newcastle while on holiday and spent the day walking all around town, taking in some of the sights and getting a feel for the place so that we can properly visit another time. We made our way to the bridges and Quayside by sundown and Akenside Traders caught our eye. It was a great choice! The servers showed us tremendous hospitality and great service. They gave us loads of recommendations on things to do while in town. Our kids loved the wings and pizza, and we were happy with the wide variety of beers offered. It is a very spacious place with TVs at every table, which I imagine is a great place to take in a football match or two! This might sound like a paid review but it isn't. We found this pub on a rainy April afternoon after walking for ages looking for a dog friendly establishment. They welcomed the 10 of us with open arms. It was a Wednesday afternoon so it wasn't to busy. Our kids were delighted with the choices they had after one of the staff went to chat to the chef about what they could have. From ordering to having food in front of us room about 20 minutes. Perfect size portions and a fantastic service. The staff went out of the way to show how dog friendly they were, with drinks and treats for both of them. If I had one complaint and its not really a complaint is that the slot machines take away a little of the look to the place. Hope to get back again 1 day and if i could give 6 stars i would....

As you enter the Akenside Traders you'll immediately take notice that this is indeed no ordinary establishment. As one sups upon the ambrosia like libations of Fosters, Brown Ale and many many tequila shots one is entranced by the pleasant rhapsody of atmosphere that engulfs this quant quayside locale and is taken a back by the affable, gregarious and congenial nature of the authentically local sourced hirelings who encapsulated ones experience by making this fellows time in their establishment naught but elegant, well met and a boon to one's already pleasurable experience.
