The Bridge Hotel is a very striking building close by the Castle; it was just a short walk from where we were staying and easy to find. We visited the Bridge Hotel last week to go to the Singers and Musicians Night at the Folk Cub which takes place in an upstairs room. What a great atmosphere when we walked into the pub-it was absolutely buzzing and packed - exactly how you want a pub to be! If you like stained glass, do have a look around at the scenes depicting the traditional trade of the area. Directly opposite, you'll find Newcastle Keep and part of the old castle walls, castle well, and the Castle Stairs. I suspect the way to do the stairs is down and not...
