Rude and unknowledgeable doorstaff. Current COVID restrictions state people should be wearing coverings in indoor settings...clearly these doorstaff can't understand the law and chose to chase me up the stairs, drag me out and get aggressive, start swearing at, and threatening me, because I chose to follow my legal right to wear a face covering. They stated I was required to remove it for the CCTV, which was done at the time of asking, and then once I was met with a busy stairwell, I replaced my mask. Surely it's understandable people want to be cautious this close to Christmas, and with a work Christmas party this was honestly a childish move from the so called 'doorstaff' to challenge the law that is laid out in black in white. Called 101 and the call handler themselves were shocked to hear a venue discouraging people to wear masks. If we go into another lockdown, nightclubs will be the first to go and will only have their own staff to blame. I left due to concerns for my own safety and that of our party, due to how rude and aggressive the staff were getting, but I do hope these childish doorstaff get an education from the lovely officers at Northumbria Police about the COVID laws in place. The atmosphere is fun and happy overall. However there are some things that bring the place down. One of the things we experienced on Saturday was that , we were upstairs (we had been upstairs for hours) one of our friends who is female, went to the bathroom, as we had all done all night we had been in and returned no issue. So she went to the toilet, leaving her bag/phone with us on the chairs, and after 10 minutes we realised she was not there and went to look for her and she was down stairs having to queue again to come up, with a 20 minute wait. Turns out if you are upstairs after a certain time and want to go to the toilet, you have to go downstairs after and re queue to come back up. Which isn’t very safe , especially for females. As my friend nipped to the bathroom , we had her phone and she was unable to contact us and was left to go down stairs and queue alone. We left our drinks to go and find her. Had a wonderful night in one of the party pods (karaoke booth) last night. Lisa was lovely on the phone and the bar staff / pod reception looked were great.

This place is always busy. People love the public karaoke on the upper floor. Often it can be hard to get space or to avoid people who are too drunk or a bit letchy.

I love the party pods. There wasn't room service on the night we were there but I don't know if that's a permanent change. There is air con in the rooms if needed and colourful lighting.

Good selection of songs on the system but could do getting an even more complete library, there were a handful of songs we looked up and couldn't find.
