High prices. People here are completely out of touch with reality, very strange vibes at this places, extremely incompetent staff that are stupendously unsocial, manager absolutely does not take any criticism, overly formal and tense atmosphere, easily some of the most awkward and tense conversations with certaistaff more so when complaining about food, as it is very inconsistent, I have enjoyed some food here in the past but I have never remotely felt like I did at this establishment, you are absolutely not allowed to complain or the most insane interactions will occur, it’s genuinely hard to even have a conversation without feeling you are completely wrong. Staff will be extremely rude and concise to let you know without hesitation that nothing can be done, they won’t change food. If you ask to change the bill you might as well bash your head against a wall, as for certain this is what you will feel like after attempting to even say this. They seem to think not about the customer but how amazing their establishment is, more so as a insult They offer £1.50 discount of a bill even when you complain as soon as possible (they don’t replace food either)’ Most of the staff won’t utter a word, like the whole place is just a stressful environment, you absolutely will not get any freindly conversation out of the staff. A strange staff member who came over to argue with me about my meal really made me feel intimidated, easily one of the most confrontational and hyperbole aggrogance I have experienced from a individual, it was such a strange feeling, especially so in a restaurant trying to enjoy a night out, I’m always very respectful and so to be treated even close to how I was, is absurd and honestly I was thinking wether he was going to get physical. Really such a awful feeling having respectfully complained and not doing anything to help, made me feel very dissatisfied. For me to have to be on point and ready to have a verbal war and try diffuse the situation on a night out, when it should be completely the other way around was genuinely hard to comprehend, it left me dumbfounded he came over and tried intimidate, at points I really though he was going to punch me! the whole situation was really hard to fathom (again I’m always soft spoken and very courteous)They will not tolerate complaints and you will feel extremely awkward interactions if you ask the bill to be appropriately adjusted. Awfully serious, awkward, and intensely strange atmosphere propelled by the insane management, I have not even come close to what I felt in this restaurant elsewhere, again at one point I was adjusting myself in the seat ready for this certain staff memeber to hit me, all because of the insanely awkward conversation fuelled by him, So im sitting in a restaurant on my night out, trying to de-escalate this mess, he only gets more awkward and aggressive, he absolutely forgot what his job was, I Was seriously intimidated all because I asked for my food to be replaced after one bite (as it was just not good, especially at the insane prices) They would not give me a discount (money is not a issue at all, but the principle of paying for subpar food...additionally so after I felt like I was going to get punched and the overall hard to comprehend experience) and surely it would of got to the point where they would have called the police, no joke that’s how they handle things ( police wouldnt do anything, truly if food was not up to standard and you are reasonable you are allowed to refuse payment) It sureIy was one or two individuals that just Personally don’t not like me and they made that frighteningly clear (I’m always smiling, I seem to get along with everyone and always genuinely ask staff how they are and say have a good evening/day in every establishment in I’m again making this more strange) Again I just don’t think you are allowed to complain even...

Our recent dining experience at Mantra Thai was nothing short of exceptional. The restaurant's recent renovation has truly elevated the ambiance, creating a cool and relaxed setting that sets the stage for a comfortable dining experience. We were delighted to discover that the lunch menu now features a variety of new dishes, and we couldn't resist trying their delightful 2-course lunch special.

I opted for the lunch special set, starting with crispy prawns as my starter, followed by the spicy king prawns tom yum noodle soup as my main course. Let me tell you, the noodle soup completely blew me away. The flavors were extraordinary, leaving me thoroughly impressed.

My partner ventured for the roasted duck with tamarind sauce, and he couldn't stop raving about it. According to him, it was the best roasted duck he had ever tasted, boasting a perfect combination of crispy skin and tender meat. It was truly a treat for the taste buds.

For my cousin, the steamed seabass in seafood sauce brought back cherished memories of his hometown in Thailand. The dish was prepared with utmost care and authenticity, capturing the essence of Thai cuisine flawlessly.

To end our meal on a sweet note, I couldn't resist indulging in a slice of their delectable carrot cake. Paired with a cup of aromatic coffee, it was the perfect way to conclude our culinary journey at Mantra Thai.

Overall, our experience at Mantra Thai Dining was truly enjoyable. The food was not only scrumptious but also showcased the skill and passion of the chefs. The delightful ambiance further enhanced our dining pleasure, providing a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The attentive service we received throughout our visit was the cherry on top, making us feel well taken care of.

After many recommendations from friends and family, we gave Mantra Thai a try. The table booking process was easy and the days leading to the booking, I received several confirmation emails which was great. The service was acceptable. There were many staffs around and they were tentative enough. Nothing extraordinary however. We ordered 2 starters and 2 mains. The 2 starters were Crispy Fried Squid and Duck Spring Roll. The 2 mains were Thai Red Curry Beef and Crispy Pork Belly in Thai Chilli Sauce. The Crispy Fried Squid was great. The batter was seasoned nicely with a hint of lime. The Squid was not chewy and tasted fresh. The spicy dip was the star of the dish. It was spicy, saucy and sweet. Really good sauce. The Duck Spring Roll was brilliant. It was thick and packed with duck and vegetables. Paired with the Hoi Sin sauce, it was also a great starter. On to the mains: Thai Red Curry Beef was frankly, unacceptable. All the ingredients tasted as if they were blanched without a hint of seasoning where the curry was simply poured on top. The beef was as tasteless as paper where the plain rice had more flavour than it. The amount of beef was also shockingly small, I counted about 10 pieces of thin less than inch wide beef. Crispy Pork Belly in Thai Chilli Sauce was fine. But that's all there is to it. It was neither spicy enough nor Crispy enough. The dish felt like an after thought, especially when there were about 6 pieces of pork belly in it. Overall, for a restaurant of this price point, it is not worth a...

My review would be a one star but my Thai wife rated her food an 8 out of 10, so it's an overall 3 star. But this is my review so here goes. The atmosphere is relaxed and quite quiet, which was nice. But a Thai restaurant that doesn't serve any Thai drinks loses a star and is disappointingly unusual. Our table kept on changing servers(we had a total of 5) because they didn't know the menu and couldn't answer our questions. A service charge of 10% added to the final bill was an unpleasant surprise. Maybe it was stated on the menu somewhere, but I didn't see it. For a table of four our bill came to £245. which is far too high. This is the most I've paid for a meal, ever. £3 for an egg, £4 for a very small scoop of ice cream and £4 for hot water and a Tea bag means I'll not be returning and I ask that you check out other options in the area if you're craving Thai. Edit* I incorrectly stated the service charge as 20%.It is not and I apologize to the restaurant. I have corrected my review.
