Outside the pub shows it is very well maintained with ample seating outside, and lighting for evening customers. There is a ramp entrance for disabled customers however the doors to enter the premises may be a bit difficult for an unescorted disable person. They have large display boards showing their offers present and future. Inside the pub is very clean, and when I visited the staff were very diligent in ensuring empty tables were clear and clean of previous customers glasses and plates. I had a small meal that was hot and the ingredients were fresh the quality was not of a high standard of say a 5 star restaurant, but certainly not disgusting and I would grade the meal 3 out of 5 as it lacked some seasoning and plate presentation. I had a cold drink in a clean glass that was both clear and cold as expected. I also had a coffee which was hot and made from fresh ground coffee. My guest had a hot chocolate which came from a satchett which was disappointing to taste according to my guest. The staff were a mix of young and mature and were not under stress of a lot of customers at lunchtime which made me wonder why the service was slow. The staff were dressed cleanly and professional in their mannerisms showing a friendly face and voice they did lack being attentive and preferred to speak with each other than notice customers waiting. Where the pub fails is it's parking, the parking lot of the premises is ample and easy to access, but the parking notice on the wall is something all customers should be aware of. To avoid getting a parking fine from private company customers are expected to request and hold a receipt of purchase from the pub for upto 3 months I myself do not keep receipts from restaurants or public houses for 3 months and let's be honest if I had not gone out of my way to read the notice I more than likely would find myself in a position to be fined, sorry but that is a ridiculous parking notice, and staff of the pub should automatically give receipts out for every purchase which I was not offered. Therefore they lose a star. Summary a Nice clean well maintained pub not noisey, service a bit slow, meal and drinks were ok, but parking rules need a rethink. See photo for...
Read moreThis pub and food used to be lovely. Last 3 times I have been the my food orders have been wrong food is cold not even slightly warm. Today was my last time ill ever visited this pub. Ordered a Sunday dinner that looked like a kids school dinner veg was cold and some of the carrots was still frozen. My sons pasta was hard and pasta and sauce was cold. Chips cold. They returned with my mams Sunday dinner they had just quickly heated up in the microwave as everything on the plate was the same even the carrots she had mashed on the side of the plate to give my son but yet the meal was still cold.. My stake arrived wrong meal they made a fresh one that arrived wrong again waitress came back and said sorry we won't be making ur meal again we will refund u I said that's fine I'll just order another one 15mins later after. The waitress came bk and said they will now make me another stake 18mins later my stake arrives. Started eating it and it tasted spicy manager and waitress kept looking over at me and standing together laughing. I thought maybe they had done something to my meal so I pushed it to one side and just left the rest of it. £27 worth of food wasted. The bar needs a good clean walls have food up them chewing gum under the table. Only found this out as I clean the top of the table and around the under edge b4 when we r seated sorry but it's just what I always do when out for food with my son. Everyone knows what toddlers r like with there cones off the plate omto the table and they pick it up n eat it from there. So always clean it first. But over all last few times of being there have not been very nice experience so Definitely will not...
Read moreMe and the kids decided to grab some afternoon tea, we had BOGOF Burgers from the menu.
The burgers were overcooked, almost black, and terribly dry. The onions weren't fried, just chopped up red onions mixed with BBQ sauce. The lettuce was fresh and crunchy which was nice but the whole thing was just dry and nasty, and the fried were barely warm.
The drinks are an absolute joke too. Asked for large coke zero and received a glass with barely 2/3 of the glass filled. I mean seriously, it costs a fraction to fill the dang thing up to the line, especially since you're paying around £3+ per glass! For soda.
The staff were friendly but there was particular member who didn't look very inviting at all, with almost a scowl on her face as she was pottering around serving. It's quite comical really.
I've been here before and it was a 5/10 experience but I will be avoiding this place in future.
The standard price for the burger meal I bought was priced at over £10 but was not worth that at all. The food is a solid 2/10.
Save your money, go to the corner house where you'll get a quality meal at around the same price. They're quite stingy with drink top ups too so be warned. It's really becoming a pet peeve of mine that you pay over £3 (sometimes almost £4) for a soft drink to receive a glass with 25% of its contents missing.
Do better...
