Absolutely diabolical. Avoid if you want nice food. Had a rare chance to spend some grown ups only time together. Headed here and found out there was a 50% off food offer. Ordered food and got told 30 to 40 minute wait on food. Mainly because of the offer and because they were busy. ( Their idea of busy must be different to ours). Ok no problem , happy to sit with a drink and chat. Whilst approaching the 30 mins we saw a meal get brought out and complained about straight away( couldn't hear what for), a member of staff went to try sort something out for her and never returned. Then a man went to the bar to get a refund as he'd been waiting over an hour. The couple on the next table had also been waiting over an hour and had to enquire as to where their food was. Then another table got 2 burgers delivered that had to be taken back as they weren't theirs. Eventually their meal came ,only for the other 2 group members meals to turn up 25 mins later. The 1st lady with the disappearing staff member had to go for her booked train but did manage to speak to manager before she left, having left her meal. An hour and 10 mins later our food arrived, wish we hadn't bothered. Hubby's pizza was just a mound of globby cheese and flavourless, and my carbonara was so tasteless and oily , so oily that it ended up down the loo when i got back home. On clearing the plates the waitress asked if everything was ok, so husband told her no, not really. She apologised and went to sort something for us. The offer of a free dessert came back, so husband picked a chocolate brownie off the list of 4 desserts. Oh we have no brownies, basically all I can give you is ice cream she said. We have cookies if you'd like some of them she then offered. 1 rolo and 1 snickers cookie were brought to the table, jeez we thought the food was bad, think the cook had forgot to add the sugar to the dough then baked them to death. All in all a pretty naff experience, can honestly say its the worst meal...
Read moreWhat a cannie little popular place to visit whilst in Newcastle. Great place to watch newcastle United match or any other sport. They have a few TV screen around the place. Quite few people in and I know on match days it gets packed. Nice deco and it was kept nice and clean. Staff were smiley and polite. They have clean and tidy toilets here and although they have accessible entrance never noticed accessible toilet. I had tandoori chicken with salad and a bit over cooked flatbread. Ate everything but flatbread. They also do nice Mayfair cheese burger with side fries. Washed this down with a pint of anarchy and diet Pepsi for me. Not bad price for food. They are in middle of menu change so the meal I actually wanted was on the menu but they were more than happy to accommodate me and gave me what I asked for which I was grateful for. Mayfair is not far from, monument, st James and central metro station. A good reliable bus service runs close by or you can drive into town and park up in a(paid) car park. Plenty of pubs and restaurants are also close by as are shops and of course Eldon square. Would i return, yes I would and would also love to catch the atmosphere on match day. I have recommended to family...
Read moreWas served a pint that tasted extremely bitter, clearly an issue with line cleaning as the pint was horrible and a member of staff agreed as soon as it was taken back and offered to replace it, however an extremely rude supervisor (Spanish looking lad with a mullet) point blank refused to help in any way and insisted the drink was fine despite other members of staff admitting it was clearly not right. The supervisor continued to patronise me asking if I had drank that beer before and that’s how it’s supposed to taste etc, I’ve worked in bars myself for many years and was extremely disappointed. Clearly the price of one pint is worth more than the repeated business of a customer as I won’t be back. Other staff were lovely and very helpful but that supervisor has a...
