We made a reservation for 8pm On arrival we told staff that we had booking didn't even acknowledge our booking, we were shown to small table for two by young female member of staff offered drink ; came promptly I went outside for few mins when a customer arrived looking for a table to be told restaurant was closed this was at 20.05 she told me how bizarre that it was closed we then checked website for closing times to discover that it was now closed strange that they would take our reservation for closing time. We ordered starters which were delicious but had just finished when waiter arrived with our main course we felt very rushed and could not enjoy our main course as there was only one other table in and they were finished their dinner . Lots of mistakes to be learned by this young team we have been in the restaurant business for a very long time and don't like to critise staff but this little gem of a restaurant could do a lot better we left not having a dessert or coffee as staff were already leaving . We spoke with young chap who was in charge tonight who was very apologetic but he has many a few learning curves to cross disappointing for us as we had looked forward to the luvly menu ( also server should have told us there was no fillet steak before we looked at menu) she waited until we had made our choices. Italian restaurants need front of house...

Then our main course I ordered the pollo dolce latte and what a laughing stock it was the portion of chicken I got was appalling it was no bigger than a bank card and at the price of £17.95 ,my partner ordered the bruschetta which was pretty much like eating the end of the garlic bread covered in mixed leaves from tesco . When we voiced this the manager a woman wearing a blue blouse said that's just how it comes and continued to give us an uncomfortable opinion with attitude me and my partner were extremely discruntled by this and we asked to leave after telling her we owned our own restaurant and that if she was a member of my staff she would of been sacked on the spot as soon as we said this she was apologetic and panicked. You ruined our night and stay in Newcastle we will not be returning ever again avoid this place...
Read moreHonestly, I would give this place an extra star across the board if I could.
I've been to Newcastle as a lone traveller a few times for work, and as someone who likes to try new places each time I go anywhere, I can't bring myself to it!
The food is simple, and executed perfectly. Which to me is the backbone of Italian food. I've had chicken, fish and steak here and everytime the food is perfect. As I want to eat healthily, the veg side is always perfect and looking at others pizzas and pastas, next on my list will be these!
Travelling solo, the vibe is perfect. I'm always accommodated, but there are always full tables around me. Compared to other places where on your own feels a burden, the level of attention is perfect.
If a sole diner, couple, or family meal. These guys do it all. And the house wine (my measure of Italian places stock) is always...
